I have been having irregular periods for last 2 months now, 1sr month was 32day cycle last month was 41 day cycle, prior to this I was every 28 days.
I went to to the doctors and long story short organised for me to have a blood test on day 21 of my cycle of my cycle and then he was going to arrange a ultrasound. I had my blood test last Thursday and phoned up today and the receptionist said something has shown up on the results and for me to see the GP. This appointment is not till next Thursday so another 10 days. Can anyone shed any light on what it could be?
The receptionist said not to worry because if it was serious i would he called in straight away but equally I am worried and wondering what it could mean?

Oh @Rebeccap1988 i hate it when they make you wait but she’s right, if it was serious the doc would phone you. None of us here are doctors but ...as far as I know the 21 day bloods are to check you’ve ovulated,( they usually take blood prior to that on the first few days of your period)
However the day 21 test is based on a 28 day period with day 14 being ovulation day. All GP’s stick to this guidance. I ovulate day 16 so my test should be day 23, not 21 and I have to remind them of that. As your last 2 cycles were longer maybe the 21 days bloods are in accurate so they’ll want you to re-test? Do you know what day you ovulated?

I’d phone back and tell the receptionist that you can’t sleep for worrying and is it possible to speak to doctor on phone or bring the appointment forward as it’s causing you stress.
Good luck xx

No I don’t track it because everything is stressing me out to much as it is. When I went for the test the nurse said all the things it was testing for and it was ALOT. Would the have called me in earlier if it came back that I was infertile? I’m sure I haven’t got some life threatening condition as I would of been called in straight away but to me even though it wouldn’t be fixed being infertile is really serious. I’m thinking the worst but just wana know. It’s been 8 months of trying and my minds going over drive.
I already phoned back earlier and they said they can’t get someone to phone me xx

It would take an awful lot more than just a blood test to discover infertility so please put that thought out your mind. Honestly, 8 months isn’t a long time. It takes most couples who are under 35 12 months to conceive so you’re still in the ‘normal’ window.

I totally understand how stressful it is (18 months, 3 chemicals, 1 failed IVF) but you’ll drive yourself insane. So try and go on the assumption that it’s a little thing, rather than something major. And it’s likely whatever it is they can offer a solution.
Big hug x

Wow you are so positive with that I feel ridiculous being like this with the minor things happening in my life compared to what your going through.
I thought that would be the case fingers crossed they can fix what ever it is and hopefully I’m celebrating soon. Sending love to you and hope you get some positive news xxx

Don’t feel ridiculous. It’s totally normal to have wobbles and feel the world is caving in. But usually for me that’s hormonal .

Let us know how you get on. Xx

Will do...hope you get little feet soon xx

This happened to me, turned out I ovulated later than the expected CD14 so it came back that I wasn’t ovulating.
I knew I was so made sure before my repeat bloods that cycle I tracked and used OPKs so I knew exactly what day to go back.
I wouldn’t worry to much into this hun, if it was serious then like said above the doctor would have called you. Also you won’t be able to know if your infertile or not through some blood tests.
Stay calm the stress isn’t good in this journey.
