Hey girls,

Last time around got on with the feeding part no probs, but I had a manual Avent breast pump and never managed to get more than about 2 ounces, was painful and took about half an hour for anything.

Wish I'd been more bothered really, as when he started being looked after by his father for a few hours, I should have been pumping to keep up my supply, but instead it started to dry up, and I had to start topping up with formula from 3 months.

So this time round want to try an electric one, but really don't want to fork out nearly £100 if I don't get on with it.

Just googled renting one, and it seems the only ones you can rent are about £60 for a month, I was thinking more like £20!

Anywhere else ladies know of? Don't even have any friends with babies, but would find it weird asking to borrow someone elses just to see if it worked!

mention it to your health visitor i borrowed one from them and it was free and it was a medela one not sure if they do this in every area though xx

Might give that a go. I also tried the Avent manual one ...... not a drop, just throbbing boobs!!

I bought this one - http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.206-6772.aspx - however I got it direct from Tomee Tippee when they had a sale on for £49.99.

I figured that if I don't get on with it, then i've only wasted £50 - plus i'm sure you'd get a bit of cash back on eBay if it's only been used once of twice :-)

Yeah, good point tasha, always good old eBay if things don't work. Am definately gonna ask the health visitor first though, those Medula ones are £100 for a month to hire wherever I've looked. Will just wait till I get a Health visitor then!

You can buy a Medela one for less than £100 brand new - Merv's Mum had one I think...

Have a word with your MW and see what she suggests - they're really helpful when it comes to breast feeding, well mine is at least! lol! :-)
