Hi Ladies,
I havent managed to get on the forum since Everly was born but i can tell you that we also have reflux and its getting me down..
we began at around 2 weeks when we had projectile vomit we ended up seeing a peaditrician who said we were over feeding her!!
it all carried on and ended up seeing doctor who presribed gaviscon too.
In meantime we tried colief thinking it was colic - you name it we had it.
thankfully Everly didnt cry with pain but was obvious that the acid coming up after the sick was making her uncomfortable.
she is now 8 weeks and we have since come off gaviscon this worked for a few weeks and progressvily got worse
ended up seeing a private paeditircian who has given her domperidom for sickness and retidin for acid
we have to tilt her moses basket at night which i hate as most mornings she like a ball at end of cot.
i cant lay her down after feeds
i cant pick her up and cuddle her for at least an hour
she cant lay on my chest as it is uncomfortable for her
all of the above breaks my hearts
she doesnt seem too phased by much of this only the acid, she feeds well and is thriving on her milk is nearly 11.5 lbs
she sleeps well too
we have had to increase meds though as the sickness got worse
she now has a virus so is coughing and in turn is making the sickness worse
she always has to wear a bib !!
we have been told that they grow out of it from 12 weeks to 9 months!!!
we are also on aptimel anti reflux milk which you have to get water to 40 degrees before adding formula and then wait 7 mins.,
i have to use syringe for meds 4 times a day
somehow i am still trying to enjoy being a first time mummy to my miricle baby but would love to know if anyone else is suffering !!
