Off topic I know but can anyone help?

Currently on mat leave and I just get SMP. LO is 16 weeks.

Work told me yesterday that my departmebt is shutting down so being made redundant.

Can I claim jobseekers allowance while on SMP or do I need to wait til that finishes?

I think you have to wait till it's finished as technically your not looking for a job while on mat pay x

you can still get all the other help, tax credits, housing and council tax benefit etc on top od smp
