Recycled Reusable nappies?

Hi guys

So I have gone down the Resuable nappies route and stumbled across one thread talking about the best brands where a lot of ladies mentioned they are getting a selection from Preloved and Ebay.

I'm no snob when it comes to second hand stuff; I already have a second hand pram and am borrowing things like baby bath etc from a friend. But for some reason I am not 100% about using nappies after someone else, who I don't know, has. I'm just worried about the transfer of germs - which makes me feel silly, because OF COURSE they will be washed and clean.

How do other people feel about 2nd hand nappies?

I started that thread hehe. Yeah I am deffo not going down the 2nd hand nappies route. You wouldn't sell your used knickers on so why nappies that have been soiled in?! ewww. I'm a snob though hehe xx

I would buy preloved nappies just to save some money and 'recycle' stuff whilst testing out which ones I like best, but Hubby thinks it's a step too far down the eco route, so it's new ones for us. It's a shame, but I see what he means when he thinks it's a bit yuck.

I want to be able to use the recycled ones (save money, even more eco friendly etc) but just cant get my head around it!

Can u not buy the liners separate to the covers with some reusable nappies? I don't know much about them to be honest. Maybe if u buy new liners u would feel happier with some second hand bits to get u started? Xx

ha ha, I'm bit of a nappy snob as well!! I'm going to use dotty bots cloth nappies and they are one of the few things I'm buying new. Just the thought of old poo puts me right off second hand - I know its irrational but thats all I think of!
