Hi girls, please help me....

I've been monitoring the movement of baby the last 2 days as she appears to have calmed down rather alot.

The only way I can describe what appears to be happening is that I am getting alot of pain very low down - almost as if she is trying to escape through my cervix already!!

But, on the other hand I appear to have lost the "belly kicks/punches"

Is this normal?

Am I panicking over nothing again?

The bump in general is feeling rather heavy and its getting increasingly difficult to walk or move "fast" now but then I am also suffering from sciatica too so that doesn't help. I am also measuring on average 5-6cm bigger than I should be...

I should also mention that for the last two weeks she has been breech too.

Any help would be very much appreciated to put my mind at rest before I ring midwife...

Thanks in advance... xx

Are you still feeling movement? Is it just kicks you're not feeling-my bubs doesn't really kick but there's lots of other movements to consider like wriggles and squirms x as long as you're getting 10 movements baby should be fine but if you are worried i'd phone them for reassurance x

Hey!

Sound like baby has moved to me. there is probably still movement going on but to the inside of your body as the back could be facing out to your tummy now. Also there isn't so much room now for baby to move around it. did you notice a lot of hiccups recently? that's a growth spurt lol.

If it was me i would raise it with my MW just for reassurance, but sounds like you just getting closer to the end of pregnancy

Take Care xx

Hi Hun if your really concerned just ring the midwife, it may just be that baby is moving down more. How far are you Hun? I just got a kind of baby shifting from side to side sensation rather than kicks and punches just before she came out! Just ring they will put your mind at rest other wise you won't be able to stop worrying, I did exactly the same thing I was constantly eat hing my belly waiting for it to move then convincing myself there was something wrong! I think it's just one of those last minute panics before birth xx :)

Just like Helen said, the kicks change to rolls more now! As long as your feeling 10 movements a day, she should be fine!

Hey hun i havent personally got any experience of what ur feeling some days the baby is quieter than others but from what ur sayin i wud get it checked out asap. Ring ur midwife hun to put ur mind at rest xx

Thanks Helen hun, I'm still getting movement - a bit like judders but they are all very low down... I don't know whether she's turned and is constantly head butting me down there or what but its just strange that I've gone from pretty active kicking (above belly button) to nothing and everything very much low down.

Also, I hear alot of people talk about these 10 movements a day etc - how exactly do you measure this? My midwife told me they don't measure movement in this way any more? As long as you have movement different times of the day then all is ok apparently?

It's just that typical me is worrying because of the sudden change in the type of movement... xx

Its normal for movements to get quieter as you get further along, i used to get more squirms than kicks. Some days i'd get loads others he'd be really really quiet and start panicking me!

If you feel that something isn't right though hun, i'd phone the midwife xx

aaawww, girls, thank you so much for your very quick responses... you always put my mind at rest :) I will give the midwife a ring though just to double check although funnily enough as I type this - I just felt a "bounce" 3 times if that makes sense?! But, again - very low down!

I think it is more of a case of being worried about the lack of kicks rather than the lack of movement as such and the fact that it is so low down...

I'm still only 30 weeks... not liking the idea of being this early - i'm not ready yet! xx

babba is playing tricks on you...naughty babba

Yeah it sounds like how mine's gone recently munchkin too, I get less kicking now and more feelings like when you go over a bump too fast in the car, if you get me :)
Hope mw puts your mind at rest hun :)

No real advice to add but I posted yesterday to say that most of my movements are low down.

Let us know what the mw says.

My baby has really active days and really slow days! It usually depends on my level of activity and how exhausted I am.

I would phone your midwife and get it checked out. At least to put yourself at ease.

When I was around the beginning of my 7th month there were days when I was really worried, but I would get my husband to talk to the baby. She ALWAYS responds to him.

I take it it's your first baby. Mine too - being pregnant is a little stressful. so much to watch out for and think about :)
Good luck!

thank you so much girls... have spoken to mw and she said its all perfectly normal... there is very little space in there now so the kicks etc are going to be alot less now but she has no worries at all as I am still having movement. All checks will be done properly etc when I see her on weds but for now there is no concern :)

thanks once again for all your help and advice - I was soooo worried this morning :-( xxx

Really glad mw put your mind at rest x it's so reassuring to be able to just ring them! x

Have only just seen this Munchkin, glad all was ok

I am 26 weeks - so 4 behind you, and getting lots of poking kicks etc in my girly bits low down etc now, rather than higher up. You sound like you have a bigger bump than your weeks too, so must be running out of room now. I wonder if you baby has turned too? I guess the midwife may be able to tell when she next sees you X

thanks girls... and JJ - i've attatched pic of my bump from last week - i'm even bigger now! Even last week I had trouble getting the whole bump in the pic! :wall2:  xx
