sophie will not sit on the potty she did it once and will not go back on, and will have nothing what so ever to do with toilet upstairs, has anyone please got some advice on how to potty train a very very stubbon 2 yr old

thanks cherie x

Obviously I have no real advice but I have seen some books that have sticker charts and incentives, I don't know if they work :)

my second daughter screamed blue murder if i tried to get her to sit on the poty. shewasn't potty trained until she was 2 and half.
id stop for a while and try in a month or so.
leave the potty around for her to sit on and get her some potty books.

thats exactly what i used to do, leave the potty around the living room, or where you are in the house mainly & then she won't think of it as a big deal.
i know how hard it is to potty train, so good luck hun.
does sophie ever see you use the loo? maybe this would make her want to use it

I know this wont be everyones cup of tea, ive been gettin kaiden used to the potty for a few months now, hes 11months but very active, my MIL suggested that a feed him on the potty, and most of the time hel do a pee in it. With the Poo side, my mum suggested i put him on the pull up pants and when he starts to push then whip the pants off n sit him on the potty, Im gonna get the pull ups this week XkelX

the main thing to bare in mind with everything regarding chidl milestones is that they will do it eventualy. i don't know of any child going to school at 5 yars old not potty trained  . Just relax and she will do it in her own time

i dont know if im the only one who thinks this, but why use a potty in the first place? then youve gotta make the transition between potty and toilet afterwards.

Bethany was 2 exactly when i toilet trained her, she also wouldnt sit on a potty so i took it away and only sat her on the toilet, bought her some " big girls pants" and loads of treats ( 10p bags of sweets) and everytime she went on the toilet she got a treat, she was fully toilet trained within 6weeks

Josh wasnt quite as quick though, i left him until he was nearly 2.5 and it took a few months before he was totally dry during the day

Thanks for the advice ladies, i think the reward chart would work for sophie and the sweets

i cant belive i didnt think of the reward chart in my job.

thanks
