Hi!

I think I am going to change Ella over to cloth nappies, but there is a lot of choice out there! A lady I know from another site emailed me with lots of info about the different types, but I thought that I'd ask you ladies aswell to get a feel for what seems to be the most popular nappies. I've heard Bambino Mio are crap, so shall avoid.

My local council don't offer interest free loans in my area, so I will have to buy them myself. This is why I want to buy the most recommended, as I am skint!!!

Advice kindly appreciated. Thanks in advance :D

hope i'm allowed to put this on the forum, but i have a pack of 5 kushies all in ones for sale. (size 10-22lbs) i bought a pack as i was determined to at least give the reusables a go, but i only got as far as washing one of them ready to try - never actually got around to trying them and i doubt whether i will...

i've heard good things about them too... shame on me for being so lazy!

bought them for £40 in mothercare 3 weeks ago, will accept £25 and will throw in an unopened pack of nappy soak and a pack of flushable liners as well if you're interested. i also have a brand new bucket for soaking them in, but i reckon it might be tricky to post that one...

let me know if you're interested anyway, they're only gathering dust here...

Fab thanks :D

P.S Petchy, will get back to you about the nappies, still in the midst of researching :D

Hi Rosie,

I use both shaped nappies and prefolds (the mios). I like both systems but it depends on your lifestyle. In the thread that bagpuss has posted I gave a brief description of the different systems but if you have any questions please ask.

Thanks for the compliment Bagpuss xx

Well I like the look of the Tots Bots ones but they seem expensive. Cheaper in the long run I suppose!

How many do you have Beanie? I was going to go for 6 Nature Baby's wraps, 12 TBs and disposable liners. Would you use the disposable liners or fleece ones? Have you tried Fuzzi Bunz or Minkis?

I think I'd need to go for more nappies. I was going to try them during the day at first then use at night (but something like a Minki at night).

Thanks :D

I don't have too many of the tots bots as Seren will be at the maximim weight for the first size and I didn't want to spend too much money on something I was only going to use for a month or so. I have 3 tots bots and 1 wrap but have 24 prefolds and 5 wraps. I would suggest if you are going for the shaped nappies to have minimum 15 nappies and 4 wraps. There is another brand of shaped nappies called Little Lamb (www.littlelamb.co.uk) which are similar to tots bots but cheaper. I have three of these but Seren is too small for them at the mo so I have never tested them. I have not tried the Nature baby's wraps but have had the motherease rikki wrap recommended, and I also use the tots bots strawberry wrap which I find great. I am planning on buying some fl;eece wraps when Seren is bigger and moving around her cot at night as at the moment with her just lying in one position it may cause a leak over the night.

Currently I am using disposable liners. I haven't tried the fleece as am happy with the disposables but I know a lot of people use the fleece wraps and recommend them. Not tried fzzi bunz or minki's. Do you mean the huggle or the pocket minkis. Apparently the huggle is very absorbant and a great night time nappy, and the pocket nappies are very cute. Come in some great patterns. Again though I am waiting til Seren is in the next size so I get more use out of them. Cloth nappies are great but very addictive too lol.

Meant to say alot of the nappy companies do trial packs, I know tots bots and littlelamb do as do mios (but I guess you don't want to try those). I would get trial packs and try them. Ebay is great for picking up nappies new and second hand, and if you do buy a trial pack and don't like it then the nappies have a good resale price

Thanks Beanie :D

Didn't mean to cause offence with the mio comment - just read on another site that they aren't meant to be any good (not sure why though!).

The minkis were the pocket ones for at night, they look really cute.

Am going to check out the little lamb site, thanks for that :D

Have you always had Seren in reusables?

No offence taken lol, not all nappies suit everyone. I personally have not had any problems with them but I do know that others have. To me though the shaped nappies do seem the easiest.

I started using reusables when Seren was just over a week old as we had a pack of huggies that I got for the free changing bag (which I have still yet to use). I was nervous about using them but to be honest I haven't looked back. I love them, so easy and to be honest I haven't seen any major increase in my washing. I do a load of nappies every three days, put them on at night, peg them out and fold and put away. It must take me an extra 15 mins max doing all that. The other day I put on a free disposable pampers had sent me but didn't like it as she hadn't got her fat bum, and it smelt funny to me. I'm not knocking disposables but I just love my cotton nappies and wouldn't ever swop back.

Uh oh, just got 2 more wraps and 2 nappies.

Beanie help me, help me!

I can't help as I'm suffering from the same thing.

My name is Beanie and I'm a realnappyholic.... wow I feel much beytter now. Which ones did you buy?

You will have to tell me how the wee notions go as they are adorable.

I got.....
Pink Camotastic Nappy
Purple Paradise Nappy
Pink Daisy (with the turq trim) Pocket Nappy
Pink Daisy change mat
Flowers on lilac wrap
Pink Stripe wrap
Rainbow Stripe wrap

And from www.babykind.co.uk

I got;
5 Tots Bots unbleached
3 Tots Bots white
2 Bamboozle TBs
2 Rainbow TBs (lilac)
1 Magicall (raspberry)
1 Wonderoo (lavender)
1 Fuzzi Bunz (peach)
1 Natures Baby stuffable (pink fizz)
12 Micro terry boosters
2 Natures Baby wraps (pink gingham & pink bubbles)
6 Rainbow TBs boosters
Bio liners
1 Tots Bots waterproof wrap (strawberries)

Petchy - I think I have enough nappies now to get me started, but reusables go for a really good price on Ebay so I'd bung them on there!
