I'm going to be buying some nappies soon (cloth ones) but wanted some advice first. We've already been collecting eco-disposables which we can use out and about and/or when we run out and are waiting for some laundry. But as for the cloth ones, can anyone tell me is the Mothercare starter pack (Bambino Mio) any good or would we be better buying a selection? Greenbaby seems to have a good range but I'm not sure how many to buy initially and don't want to shell out a lot just to find out that they aren't up to much. What do you cloth-bum experts recommend? Both brand and quantity-wise?

Cheers :)

I say buy a ton of different types and then decide what suits you. I like the prefolds (like mios but I use cotton bottoms for Becky) but lots of folk don't. I use a combination of prefolds, bamboozles (by tots bots) and a selection of pocket nappies. I love weenotions pockets but they are very expensive. The only ones I hate (again it's down to what suits your LO when they arrive) are Kissaluvs because they aren't very absorbent.

There's also a thread in the for sale section with a few of us selling second hand nappies in great condition so that's a good way to give them a go and not regret it money-wise if you don't like them.

Personally I love tots bots cotton shaped nappies and tots bots shaped bamboozles - with a wrap over the top. However, what suits one family, won't suit another - I'd love to have more pocket nappies but just haven't been able to afford them - maybe with baby 2!

I'd definitely recommend trying a few first and buying second hand to see what suits. I can really recommend the Used Nappies website - www.usednappies.co.uk, where parents sell nappies they didn't get on with or are finished with.

We love tots bots fluffles with motherease wraps. The Nappy lady website was a huge help to me, they do a tailored advice thing and it was wonderful. I really recommend it.
