just thinkin because in super market it says "rasberry tea" as in flavoured, but in shops like Holland and Barratt etc.. its Rasberry LEAF...?

lol i'm clueless xx

Plain ol rasberry tea will do nothing for you - you could drink it till the cows come home....

Its the LEAF not the berry that contains the "Fragine" the active ingredient......see below......

Raspberry leaf tea contains the alkaloid 'fragine' which is said to strengthen and tone the muscles of the uterus, helping them to contract more efficiently during labour. Research has found that taking raspberry leaf during the weeks prior to delivery helps to shorten the second stage of labour by making contractions more effective. Some studies have also found that it reduces the need for an assisted delivery (i.e. an emergency cesarean or use of forceps or ventouse).

Sipping raspberry leaf tea during and after the birth is also said to help the uterus contract back down to size, reduce after birth bleeding and help initiate the let down of breastmilk.

Hope that helps!

yay thanks Cleo...

i bought some really stuff then hehe.. got it from holland and barrats only £1.19 bargain really!! xxx

HOW ON EARTH did you get soe from holland & barrett for that price?!?! i got mine from there & it was WELL more than that, not going to say price as im embarrassed if you got it for that! :) did you get tea or tablets? maybe that makes a difference?

yeh mines Tea.. tablets were about £6 somethin i think..

i'm still early to start the tea, but prefer to drink and enjoy than take the tablets... saying that i might hate the drink lol xx

I found the tea ok, but just could not cope with drinking 6 cups a day from 36 weeks. Its a lot of tea and not my favourite flavour. Tablets we so much easier.

I've just started drinking raspberry tea and really like it. I didn't realise we were supposed to be on 6 cups a day though - am only having 3 at the moment. I'm going to get my haircut this morning and then will start guzzling in earnest!

I am pretty sure it is having an effect on me - my BHs have increased in frequency massively over the last couple of days (exactly when i started taking the tea) and are now around every 15 minutes. They just got so uncomfortable i had to get up.

I got my tea from the local health shop. Is made by Heath & Heather.

I took tablets from 36 weeks. I don't know that they helped but I had Evie 10 days early and a 3 hour labour :D  I paid about a fiver online for mine.

Think I'll get some and start drinking it. God knows how I'm gonna manage to drink 6 cups a day!! I'll be peeing like mad!

mine are same brand... i'm going to try one later today... i know i'm not quite 32 weeks, but fed up drinkin decafinated tea, fancy a change hehe xxx

i think i'm going to get some of the tablets, i can't stand any fruit flavoured teas. my mum got me some peppermint tea for my heartburn but i couldn't stand it :puke:

charlotte - dont think it tastes of raspberry the tea as its raspberry LEAF... i just couldnt be bothered to make the tea & then drink it... so much easier taking a tablet! I have noticed an increase in my BH since taking them as well... the guy in holland & barrett wouldnt sell me the tablets without checking how far gone i was either as youre not supposed to take them before a certain time.
