I have another question.

I have AB negative blood which i know is the rarest of the common blood groups. when I had my first miscarriage 5 years ago I was given an injection of anti D to prevent further pregnancies being rejected.

However after the other 2 mc's 4 years and 2 years ago I was not given one. and I had not thought to mention it to my specialist.
My partner is A+. If i were pregnant would I need another Anti D injection?:help:

Yeah,
I think it depends on when and how u miscarry whether they give u the anti D then, but with all successful pregnancies u will. The anti D is for the negative part of ur blood group rather than the AB bit :)

As Rowesb said, you will need the Anti D again because your partner is +ve (your AB makes no difference, it's only because you are rhesus negative)

up here they don't take the FOB's blood group into consideration, just the mothers...

when i was having katie i was told if i was negative, they'd test OH, if he was negative itwouldnt matter, but if he was positive i'd have to have anti-D. turns out i'm positive so didnt need it!

no one ever mentoned testing my DH, but it may have been too early to have been thinking about that, and it was probably easier and cheaper just to give me the anti D while I was mc... hhmmm
