I was wondering this too... I wish I got free child care now as DS loves his day at nursery, I just don't love the fees! x

After two months being still on pre-visits, my son crying the moment we arrived and being upset for an hour to an hour and a half being there. I took him out, there's no point and they're not learning nothing by being upset.. My OH is convinced it's because two is a funny age and you should either do 1 or 3.. I think that's bull too.. I get people giving me grief for not wanting another baby as if it's tight on him not having another sibling (he's got a half brother!!)

And I just think mind your own damn business.. My body, my life my choice.. Same with you really, your child, your life, your choice! ;)

Ffs you really can't say anything can you! I am not being judgemental. Actually the complete opposite. I'm asking that people not be judgemental about any decisions a parent makes about their own kids.

This forum has gone tits up recently and I'm sick of treading on eggshells because the slightest thing sets people off. Don't know why I bother coming here for support any more. I just needed to let off some steam and I felt like this was a safe place to do it and now I'm being told I'm being judgemental?!

If I wanted this shit I'd have gone to mumsnet!

To the people who have understood that I wasn't judging ANYONE and simply needed a place to vent about my own situation: thank you!

Juice I was thinking about this topic a lot last night so did some research. If you Google "what is the best age to send my child to nursery " it brings up some studies which might interest you too hun xxx

Thank you, I'll do that.

Look, I'm pissed off, had a shit day and I don't want to argue with anyone. I'm going to unsubscribe from this thread now because I've been sat here for the last hour feeling too bloody scared to pick my phone up in case I've just made the argument worse.
So thank you for all your responses and input :)

I didn't let my son go to nursery until he was 3 . My husband and I even worked around each other because I didn't want him to go. I hated the fact that I wouldn't know what he was doing? Would he feel like I had abandoned him? I also had another son by this time who was 6 months old.

One day I put his name down, I loved the nursery and put him in 3 hours a day. He's a September baby and wouldn't go to school until he was 5. He needed the interaction with other children. By the time I had got him there, walked home, put my other son down for a nap, cleaned it was time to collect him. It did us both a favor, when he was back in the afternoon, I could dedicate my time to him. I didn't have to clean up, everything was done.

My second son when to the same nursery and is now at school, my daughter is still at that nursery she's 4 next week. They all love going back to see their old key workers.

Good luck, whatever decision you make xx

I get free childcare for my two year old because our local authority in Wales provides it. I'm not sure if it applies to all of Wales or not. Ours is defined not income related, earn too much for any flipping help the rest of the time!!

Juice your not being judgemental - ignore that comment. I wasnt offended or felt you were being like that from your thread. And I've had my son in nursrty since 6 months like I've said!

There's always 1 x

Flintshire, North East Wales. The health visitor told me about it. It is only available with certain registered childminders or nurseries or local authority run play groups. I got sent all the paperwork about a month beforehis sesecond birthday and it is a school year from the term after his birthday.

I think it's called Flying start, if you Google that it should be able to tell you if it's in your area.
