Did you just 'know' you were having multiples?
Were your symptoms different compared to previous pregnancies?
What symptoms did you have?

Me? I've vlogged everything this time around.
Nausea, upset stomach and fatigue began at just 4DPO.
I got my :bfp: with a FRER at 10DPO, also got 1-2 on a digi.
I got 2-3 on a digi at 15DPO (AF due day).

With DD I came off the pill and we were NTNP. I noticed one day my boobs were tender, realised my period would have been due around then and tested to find I was pregnant. First trimester was a breeze compared to this time around. I was tired sure, but was also eating loads and generally feeling fine.

To try for baby #2 I came off the copper coil (hormone free). Noticed new and more intense symptoms from 3-4 DPO. Since then I have been constantly exhausted, I sleep 9-10 hours at night and find myself getting drowsy around 1pm when my sickness wears off. My boobs feel like they're on fire they're bulging so much and I've had to buy wireless bras.

I can't eat before 1pm, food smells and sights make me feel nauseous before then and I am getting pain in my abdomen (dull cramps with the odd muscle twinge over the last few weeks). I'm not concerned about the pains but I never had these before either.

To sum it all up, I'm getting way more symptoms at a higher level of intensity and I got them from only days after I ovulated.

This is my 3rd pregnancy, I had a MMC in 2009, DD was born in 2012.

Open to suggestions, I know it doesn't necessarily mean a multiple pregnancy, but I am definitely suspicious! :)

I know you're meant to show sooner with your second but this is me at 7 weeks. I'm inflating!

Oh sparky! You could be our first march mummy to twins!
Does it run in the family anywhere?

I can't comment on your symptoms etc as this is only my second pregnancy but obvi I couldn't read and not comment.

When are you having a scan? Xx

At 8 + 3 hun, a week on Monday!
I just look huge for 7 weeks! Even for a second pregnancy!
Runs on my dad's side but not had any for 5-6 generations x

Multiples can't be passed through a male as its determined by the eggs either you drop more than one or it splits.

In my second pregnancy I was in maternity clothes from 9 weeks. This is my third preg ancy and at 4 weeks I'm enormous!

That being said it could still be a multiple pregnancy... If that's what you want I hope you get it. I definitely don't want twins... 1 more is plenty for. Me

🤣🤣

I donated eggs last August and they got 7 from me in one cycle!

We'll see for sure on scan day lol.

Are you having an early scan! I'm excited to see if your gut is right!

One week from Monday!
30th July.

Odds of twins are 1 in 250, a way better chance than I'd have guessed!
I'm just going by my first two pregnancies, things are way more intense this time. Could be because I'm older but I'm only 28.

I'm finding it the same. I have a 3 month bump already and really early symptoms. Twins has crossed my mind but we do t have any on my side of the family.

My husband is a triplet but thankfully he doesn't have a say in the matter :rotfl:

Male genetics in the sperm can encourage the egg to split surely?

Nope, it's all down to whether the egg splits or not, or whether there is multiple ovulation and both are fertilised at the same time.both of these are determined by the female not the male

My Mil had multiple ovulation and 1 egg split so the triplets are a set of twin girls and my husband

Only fraternal twin (non identical) are genetic. Identical twins everyone is in the same lottery

I know so much about how twins happen too as it was a fear of mine as I'm a fraternal twin. But chase is correct. Although I'm sure I read when TTC my 1st that the hyper ovulation gene can be past down the generation s and it can be passed to the males but that don't increase their chance of twins. They can pass it on to any daughter's they have though.

Although if you think about it anyone can pop 2 eggs out randomly at any point in their fertile years, just pot luck it you are TTC at that time and if both catch. My mum had twins then 2 single pregnancies. I've had 4 single pregnancies (one was an mmc), was always scared about seeing twins on the scans though xx

I researched the hell out of it in my first pregnancy as I really didn't want triplets 🤣

I still have the fear despite science, facts and figures.

Fun fact: my Mil thought she was having twins till she went into labour... Then she found out it was triplets :rotfl:

That is insane!
I've had a lady reply on another forum saying she got her :bfp: much later with her twin boys than her daughter so who knows!

They got 7 eggs out of me when I donated... Nearly framed the report lmao.
