Hi ladies!

Just a quick one!

My cousins got a 4 month old son and she is still breast feeding...
She hasn't had a period yet?! And tests are showing as negative?!
Does bfing delay your periods?!

Yes it can do. It didn't with me, but several girls on here have said they haven't, some up to eight months.

Mine are very irregular 9 weeks between the last 2, had to buy some cheapy tests to keep in the house to put my mind at ease

I haven't had one yet but I'm on the pill now. As long as she's not using bfing as contraception she should be ok!

Yep, I had a friend who didn't get them back til she stopped bf. I don't get them but I am on mini pill as well as some bf and was told unlikely to have periods at the mo. Basically I think bf reduces oestrogen production. Think she should b fine as long as she doesn't use bf as a contraceptive method as PP says ^^.

Yep! My LO is almost 4 months and still no period for me I am not on the mini pill or anything, and definitely not preggo.

Bf reduces oestrogen production, if her LO is still feeding exclusively and more than every 4hours it's unlikely that she'll have ovulated. If its done properly bf is 98% effective a a contraceptive, but there's a lot of rules to it. Xxx

some ppl dont get their period back for ages if theyre bf'ing exclusively, ive not had one but i went straight on the mini pill so not likely to either lol. id deffo use some form of contraceptive as well just incase unless she wants to get preg again.

same as the ladies my lo is nearly 10 weeks and i havent had a period yet and i'm on the mini pill i do want to get pregnant again but not yet! tell her not to worry if she is worried tho to speak to gp x

I'm the same, though now E is having 3 meals a day as well as BF. I haven't had a period yet and E is now just over 7 months old. Though I have a feeling mine will be returning soon. Oh and I'm also def not pregnant or taking any pills or anything.

Drakes 7 months, on 3 meals a day and i'm still not have a period. would quite like one soon though as I want to start trying for baby no.2 October time and would like to be regular by then
