Aimee has had it since she was about 6 weeks old! Its under control on her body but couldn't do anything with her face until got antibiotic steriod cream of GP last week! It has cleared up really well, she looks like a different baby. Just wondered how long it will stay clear for cos I can only use the cream for 7 days and I'm worried it will come straight back when I stop using it?
Question for eczema sufferers?

My son suffers from excema, and I also gave him the steroid cream, which cleared it up for a few weeks. It does still come back every now and then, but he seems to be growing out of it. Each time it comes back, it's less severe.
and maheen's eczema has not cleared at all!! after 6 days of using the hydrocortisone cream...is it the same kind of cream or should I ask for an antibiotics one? I use oilatum in bath, aqueous cream as soap substitute and used that cream for 6 days twice a day, as they said I can't use it any longer bu it just calmed it a little bit but did not clear t at all!!! and it's all come back, as bad, really!!! what can I do?

Just persevere, melhoney. I had exactly the same skincare routine for my son as you are following. It took what seemed like months before we started to see any real improvement, but now it's almost gone. Make sure you keep her skin cool and dress her in loose clothing - the hot weather last summer made Daniel's skin worse, and we're starting to see small patches re-appearing now it's turned warm again.
Aimees eczema has come back worse than ever even though i was still using the cream up till yesterday. I'm out of ideas now, i think I have tried everything! Melhoney, she only had antibiotics coc her face was a bit crusty and infected otherwise it would of just been the steroids.
hmmm, today did not really help, of course!! it was so hot again (not that I am complaining, I love the sun!!!)
I showed it to the HV today and they said to go back to my GP asap, so he can prescribe something different!
so here I am again, to the surgery tomorrow probably! depends on the weather though! I went there twice today already, once for Maheen's weighting and once for me!!
