I am already in the 2 week wait bit but I am trying to pinpoint when I am ovulated this month as I think later than I think.
So I got a clearblue smiley face on CD12 at 7am than negative on CD13 in the morning. I thought I was ovulating on cd13 as I was having lots of ovulation pain backaches etc.. but than CD14 which was yesterday I felt very painful ovulation cramps that lasted couple of hours. So I am now confused. so did I ovulate on CD14 instead after the OPK turned negative?
my first question, do you ovulate in between positive and negative OPKs, so by the time in turns negative you ovulated? or can you ovulate 24 hours after the LH surge is gone?
I hope I am clear with my question. I know that you can only confirm it with temps but I never get a proper stats on this as I am always waking up different times , and I find that my temps never spike straight away but takes a couple of days to show.

Once you have had the surge you can ovulate up to 48 hours after. Doesn't matter if the opk goes negative - all the LH surge does is trigger ovulation but that can happen 12-48 hrs after a positive so you could well have ovulated on CD14.

ah thanks I think we are missing it than as stop BD on the first smiley face thinking that I will ovulate soon, this month we managed to do it one day prior to O so fingers crossed. I was thinking I ovulate early as my cycles are very short 25-26 days how wrong I was on this, so if it didn't work this month I need to keep BDing until CD16 I think, but we are nearly 40 so don't have the same stamina and full time job and a toddler doesn't help so most of the time I rather sleep than BD lol

I am 41 so understand the stamina thing. Every other day is supposed to be ok. I did read that for women who are older there is often less of a gap between a pos opk and ovulation. Are you using the Clearblue 4 day advanced tests? My cycles are the same length as yours and I ovulate on day 11-12. If you temp you might get a clearer idea of what's going on. Also for older women it is actually possible to ovulate twice in one cycle!

I think I ovulate more like CD12/13 or maybe 14 even though my cycles are short. this must be where I am going wrong with our BDing starting and stopping too early in my cycle. However I feel like I might be pregnant this month its just a gut feeling though as I started a new job and I am thinking it might not be the best thing to do right now but when is a right time for this.

Also I forgot to reply to your question, I have used the advanced clearblue ones and normal ones, and thats how I saw my LH surge ended with the normal one. But they are sooo expensive so I won't be using them next month if I don't get pregnant and just go with the flow and relax about, the OPK tend to make me stressed thinking I have to do the deed right now, I rather just enjoy it to be honest , we are becoming more like a machine :(
I have no idea how some women just get pregnant without even trying , they must be incredibly fertile lol

I really hope you are pregnant! No, I don't know how women do it without even trying. It's annoying! Yes, CB opks are expensive - but I just found out you can reuse the holder (after throwing 2 away!). I think it's better not to use them and just enjoy it too.

I don't know if anyone knows, but I can't seem to ever get a dark line on OPK. I can't afford digital ones so just got cheapies. But I've noticed lots on here working correctly. But I can only get a faint line once a month which is around fertile window.. Does that mean I'm not ovulating correctly or not producing enough LH to ovulate properly?

It doesn't have to be as dark as the test line as long as it's a surge. But if it's really faint it might be worth getting a blood test to get if you are ovulating.
