question about HE

It seems that my babes head is only 2/5 engaged now from appt yesterday. I was wondering how long does engagement take and can labour not begin until the head is fully engaged? Sorry if this sounds daft but as always I'm confused and impatient duh

Engagement can happen any time up till 4 weeks before birth. Talking to a friend of mine yesterday am, even though it was her first baby, the head didn't stay consistently engaged. With second babies, they often don't engage until hours before birth. Mine is 3/5's engaged (or was when I saw the MW last Thursday), I think all it means is, it's on it's way, but not necessarily in a hurry.

2/5ths is the same as me & when I questioned the midwife she said it would probably not move any further until THAT DAY is upon us.

Mermaid, I was only 3/5ths engaged when I went into labour.

I never even dropped, so dont panic! Doesnt mean anything

I'm nowhere near yet, can tell where he is from the doppler and he lies sideways. I'm proper sulking as my belly dropped really low so that means its gonna go lower yet
