Is everyone else getting totally baffled by trying to choose what is right for you?

I think I have made my mind up, then I read a load of bad reviews or see something else I like more.

I THOUGHT I wanted a Loola Confort Bebe.... then I THOUGHT I wanted a Quinny Buzz.... But just cannot decide now.

I know I have loads of time to decide but even so it is all so baffling!

has any one else decided? what were your criteria?

I'm starting to panic as I haven't bought anythnig yet and the choice is so bewildering. I wanted an "old fashioned style" pram but have been talked into something a little more practical (ie will fit into the car!) instead. I was talking to some new mums who said they hardly ever used the prams, and regretted buying bulky travel systems which took up too much room. Bearing that in mind, I might get a second hand one - there are tons on ebay. there is a shop locally that specialises in prams so I'm going to pop down and try and get educated, then will have to make a decision. I'd rather make a mistake on a £100 quid one though than a £500 quid one!

We've narrowed it down to 3, all expensive but I want to blow the budget on the pushchair cos it'll be used daily and besides, the expensive ones are nicer

Either the Loola in Sport Red...

I love them all! :?

We were the same, we walked into a store with 20 that all looked the same to us! And there was no one to help us! Anyway, we then found a smaller store with someone who spent at least 1/2 hour going through the pro's and cons!

I think the main thing you have to go for is ease of collapsing it, size when collapsed and handling. AND WEIGHT! The other thing to remember is that once you've chosen, bought and started using it, you will probably just get used to yours! Just be happy with the basics and the colour!

We're in the States and we've chosen a Peg Perego stroller and car seat! Going to collect it today! But this is our first baby purchase at nearly 25 weeks!

I cant choose either. had decided on a mamas and papas as my bruv has one and I know it'll fit in the car, cant get mamas and papas here!!!!

so back to the drawing board!!!!!!! I do like that PILKO p3

Hi,

We bought a Pliko Pramette as it was in th Jan sales reduced from something ridiculous to £240 including the car seat which is £150 on it's own!!

Looks like it'll do the job for us for a while especially as we have to save the pennies!

We have bought the Mamas & Papas Pilko in ICE which is a minty green colour, silver frame. Love it.

It starts as a pram, then converts to a pushchair that can face mummy or face forwards (to the road). You can remove the little pram bit and pop a car seat on it. Same as the Pilko Kirsty posted just a different colour.

It's lovely just make sure you have space to keep it in the hallway or simiar, as a pram it doesn't collapse. It collapses as a pushchair but when erected it does take up space.

Things to take into consideration:

* Will it be daily or occassional use
* Size of your car boot (or will you have to lug it on/off the local bus!)
* Space in the house, will it have to collapse small or can it take up space in the hallway/porch
* Frame weight: You don't want it weighing a ton if you need to lug it up to a flat on the 2nd+ floor
* Is it comfortable for you to push around? (I'm really tall and some prams seemed as though they were made for dwarfs!)

I'm sure there are other considerations but those I guess are the main ones we thought about. Happy pram shopping it's great once you find one you want!!

Ooo ours is in ICE too. It's a nice colour isn't it!

We liked it anyway :)

xx

I do not have any idea either :?

I like all the prams Kirsty included in her post but I'm not so keen on the handle design. :( Are they all like that these days? I think it might feel strange to push.

I don't remember how or when I heard this, but I'm sure somebody mentioned a common fault of some sort with the frame on the Loola.

I could be wrong on that though! Otherwise I like it alot.

I am hoping for the Jane slalom pro with the matrix car seat, I like it because the car seat goes out flat!

I mentioned we've just bought the Peg Perego, well it's the Pliko P3 model too! Ours is in the green, not mint, thought I'd better give my Hubby some choice as I figure I'll get to choose the cute stuff!

Someone mentioned the handle, try it, this style is comfortable, it doesn't bend your wrist at an angle! It also extends for the taller ones amongst us!

i wouldnt spend too much money as i can guarantee that within a year youll be out buying a stroller cause its light, compact and easier. i never spent slot £100 and still ended up trading it in for a smaller lighter one.

I've been thinking about this too

We had a travel system for Josh but when he was about 6 months old we bought a stroller as it was so much easier and lighter to get in and out of the car etc.

And with the 3 I've said I like you pay something like £150 for the carrycot bit and they grow out of it in 6 months anyway

My friend just did exactly that. But she said she still prefers the Quinny to the Maclaren!

I bought the travel system and a small light pushchair for the boot of the car - made sense really, can't haul the travel system everywhere if were taking the car or a weekend away. Thing is the lighter/smaller pushchair really isn't suitable for "baby" more say 3+ months when baby can sit up type thing...hense why we bought both, the pram/pushchair for me, the car seat in the car and a seperate pushchair in the boot - made sense to us but I know not everyone can do that.

We don't really have a lot of money, and so when a college friend mentioned her daughter was selling her travel system, which had barely been used, for just £50, that made the decision for us :) and it's hard to even see if it has been used, plus I got all the extras, the foot muff, raincover etc

I haven't road tested it yet, a while before baby's here, but I can say it's quite light, it folds down very easily and quickly, and it fits in my fiat punto boot, and I love the idea of the drinks holder bit on the handle too heehee

Have fun choosing yours ladies

We've gone for the M&P pliko as it was highly recommended by my friend and it looks nice :)

Am finally alllowed to pick it up next week now that we have got over 30 weeks :cheer:

Does anyone know if Mothercare still do that account thingy?

Last time I was pregnant we chose our pushchair (think it was about £250) and we paid for it in bits, more when we had it and less when we didnt. As long as it was all paid off within a certain amount of time they didnt charge interest and we got the pushchair delivered a few weeks before my due date.

I've seen a store card advertised but its one where you have to actually apply for finance and I dont want to do that :?
