Protein in my wee...

Hi ladies.

I have some testing sticks left over from my pre-eclampsia problems in my last pregnancy so I thought I would check my wee.

Checked it yesterday and the day before and both times it has shown a 1+ of protein. I have on and off headaches which are not bad enough to take medication for most of the time and have been sick both yesterday and the day before, no swelling or any other of the symptoms.

I do have a cold bug at the moment.

What do you think, should I call the midwife tomorrow to be on the safe side?



edit: forgot to add that I did a wee sample a week ago which was clear of infection but would not have been checked for anything else...

I'm sure it's nothing to worry about, but it'll put your mind at rest, so I would definitely call the MW tomorrow - you'll only be worrying about it if you don't. It's what they're there for after all

I would call your MW tomorrow and book an appointment to have a check up and have BP tested etc.

I would call the midwife too.
I had those sticks when I was pregnant with Tom and ended up with pre-eclampsia.
I THINK (don't quote me) that +1 is ok but I would check with her and, at the very least, they should monitor you more closely.

always best to get reassurance hun but im sure all is well it might be because you off colour with your cold that some protein has got in your urine.

call the MW to be on the safe side but i had protein in my wee at one of my late-second-tri MW apps and also had mild swelling in my legs but it turned out to be nothing

Call ya midwife hun because of ya past however I have had +1 protein in my wee for weeks and they havent been bothered by it cause BP was low and no swelling etc although ive had migrane after migrane.

Defo call midwife and be on the safe side xx
