Progesterone levels? Help!

Hi ladies,

This cycle I had my progesterone levels checked by a blood test at five weeks from my last period (because they're longer than average) I started my period a week later. The doctor said my progesterone level was just over 15 which makes it hard to tell if I ovulated as it's borderline or something, but she said because I had a bleed a week after that her best guess is that I did ovulate. Does anyone know more about progesterone levels and do you reckon she was right? This will be a big deal for me because it will allow us to time sex next month and that's something I couldn't do before because I have pcos opks don't work and my periods are usually six or seven weeks apart

Hiya,

It all depends what measuring system they use. In England generally it seems that the number has to be over 30 to indicate ovulation but if they used a different measuring system then 15 may indicate ovulation but not sure.
Maybe ask for a print out of the results and it may have a reference guide on there to show what it needs to be. Mine said 30 and above xx
