Hi girls,

I'm toying with the idea of having a private scan - I'm just too impatient to wait for my 21wk scan to find out pink or blue - terrible aren't I!

Anyway, what do I search for in yell.co.uk, as nothing comes up regarding ultrasound. When I search in google, not a lot comes up and the ones that do aren't in my area.

I live in Fleet in Hampshire btw - if anyone knows of a place.

Thanks!

P.S. if anyone knows approx how much the scan costs, so I can convince fiance!

Prices vary. You'd have to ask at wherever does them.

Also you could go to Reading or London for a scan. Its not that far a commute and you have loads of possibles if you look outside Fleet itself.

I found this one in Reading http://www.future-babies.co.uk/

i googled mine, managed to find a place in bath (10 miles from me) which did what i wanted and it was around £85 cheaper then the other places i found, like the bupa ones.
I wanted a 4D one so i put 4D scan and where i live in, took a while but it was worth doing the research
Having had mine i would say they are definately worth it, the lady who did mine was so lovely and it was nice to see my baby without them just going over all the bits for themselves, she showed us what we wanted to see and now we know the sex too which was our main reason for wanting it.

I'm not sure how far you want to travel but I know there are several places in Portsmouth and Southampton, or otherwise further north in Reading and Berkshire. If you google baby scan hampsire you should get a few different links pop up, I don't live there but have a good friend that does and she went to a place called 4d baby imaging in Portsmouth and loved it.

The scans range from about £70 for a normal 2d scan, dating scan or gender scan up to £150-£200 for a 4d scan depending on the package you want. I'm having a 2d gender scan next week which is costing me £79, and if all goes well we will go back for a 4d scan at a later date which start at £110 in this particular clinic. Good luck in persuading OH, I'm paying for mine myself cos he wasn't really that bothered about it, but to me it's worth every penny! I just can't wait to find out what I'm having x

Thanks for your replies, I must've been putting the wrong in google!

lisa282 - How many weeks are you? I really want a gender scan, and currently 16 wks.

I think I'll defo have a 4d scan when I'm far along enough.

I went to Future Babies in the centre of Reading, it's not too bad to get to from Fleet. Their website seems very reasonable and has a list of prices. My 12 week one was £85.

I'm 16+4 at the moment but will be 17+4 when I have my gender scan. They told me they would do it anytime after 16 weeks but I left it another week just to make sure - plus I get paid next week so obviously will need some money!! Will let you know how it goes and how easily they find the result! x

I had a gender scan with eefie at 18+0. WELL worth it! Had it with babybond, expensive and I think you might get better deals if you shop around.

I had a tinker with the dvd and it lost some quality in the conversion but you can see how detailled they are here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJrZJxohiOQ

Not terrible, perfectly natural to want to see if everythings ok, i think its part of becoming a mummy, wish we could have scans every other week tehe!

Have you asked at your local hospital also maybe google your town, something will most likely ccome up :)

x
