Private rent - deposit

I moved into my current home 6 weeks ago . I rent privately and paid a deposit of 575 however I have still not received any letter from the deposit scheme to confirm its being held . I have a receipt as proof of payment as I paid in cash at the estate agents .

I know from my previous property when we paid a deposit we recused a letter within 2 weeks telling us were the deposit is being held and also provided us with a reference number .

Getting a bit worried , should you always receive a letter telling u where it's being held

Yes I received a letter but I can't remember how long it took.

I never got a letter with current or previous rental didn't have a problem last time and it's all gone through estate agents this time so presumably all will be ok x
