Hi ladies

I just wondered if any of you had opted to go for a private early scan! I had two have two earlyscans in my last pregnancy due to pain and bleeding and it was reassuring to know baby was developing. I'm just feeling really anxious all the time and the 12 week scan feels like forever away.

A couple of the girls in April mummies already have had private scans. And a couple of us have had to have early scans due to cramping and/or bleeding.

I didn't want a private scan because our ones locally are soooo expensive and I just can't afford it! In the end I had a lot of cramping and the NHS did a scan because they feared ectopic pregnancy. Fortunately all was well and I have a follow up scan tomorrow :)

If you decide to go for an early scan I'd love to see the pictures! You don't get given them on the NHS for early scans (I didn't anyway :( )

Our local private scan place isn't too expensive especially if you also use Groupon with them but ours don't do trans vaginal scans, only abdominal so whilst my scan at 6+2 showed the right sized gestational sac and was in the right place, they couldn't see the fetal pole or heartbeat so I'm waiting another two weeks for a re scan at 8+5.

Things feel ok but I'm really wanting the reassurance. I lost three pregnancies by six weeks before having DS last year. I'm 6+4 right now so just trying to keep positive.

I wish I could justify the cost of one. The cheapest I can get here is around £70 because if being Kent Essex and London prices.
I have had an early nhs one but I wasn't overly impressed. I have my follow up on 6 days. I always find a 6 weekish scan doesn't fill me with much hope as not much can be seen with me. Last time at 8 weeks I got a picture.

I got pictures with both my early scans last time on the NHS. Those were at about 6 and 8 weeks. The second one was to check for the heart beat. I think the scans are about £89 round where I live but I'm not sure if I can justify it either

I got super anxious and just couldnt wait until my 12 week scan so we paid for a private one with Babybond at £89. I am usually quite laid back and positive but as I found out I was expecting so soon after my Mums sudden death, I was just so worried that the stress would have affected the baby in anyway.
So I had one at 9 weeks and it really was first class service. I got to see the baby on a massive LCD screen in front of me for about 15 solid minutes and they gave me about 12 really good quality scan pictures to take away.
So to me, for peace of mind the money was worth it.
I probably wouldn't do it for any future pregnancies as it was just my own circumstances that lead me to wanting to book a private early one. However I think no amount of worrying will change the outcome and a few days after the scan I found myself back to worrying again anyway!
For me though, it was worth every penny to have that peace of mind.

So glad to hear you had a good experience with them. I'm booked in for a 7week scan on the 26th. Just gotta hold on to my sanity until then xx

I had early private scan and only paid £50 as they were offering deals. It was a positive experience...saw heart beat and have photos too. It was lovely to get reassurance.

We paid £90 for a private scan at 8 weeks, and we are so glad we did! We lost the first pregnancy and only found out as I wanted to surprise my family at xmas with a scan photo as they had no idea I was pregnant, we had the scan at 10w 5d and found out it was blighted ovum. If it wasn't for that I really wouldn't have been prepared as the women's services here were horrific and I had to go through it all on my own.
This time we wanted to know how things were going as we got married and went for our honeymoon shortly afterwards, if the pregnancy had failed I needed to be well prepared for it. This time we got to see our beautiful healthy baby on the screen with the little heart beating away and it was the most amazing thing myself and hubby have ever seen! Its a lot of money but so so worth it, it really put us at ease and I'm looking forward to our first NHS scan in a few days :)

Not sure if it's close enough to you lot but to the people in Kent/Hertfordshire and
Near Essex I just booked a scan with womb with a view in Hatfield through Groupon, it's advertised at £39 but saved another 20% with a discount code I got through google so paid about £31. It's for an early reassurance scan which
I'll be having at about 7 weeks to try and stop some of the anxiety! Comes with photos too. There were other deals nearby for similar prices x
