Sorry if this is in wrong place but i'm not sure where it fits

Jack was born on 12/08. I was bleeding for around about 3 weeks then it stopped. Me and OH got a bit carried away and had sex last wed, thurs and fri problem is i'm not yet back on the pill

is it likely that i could fall pregnant before my first period? Know i probably sound a bit thick and i should have been a bit more patient but couldn't keep my hands off him! and yes i've been out to get some condoms now

the answer is yes! the time from giving birth until your first period is your most fertile time and it is v.important your careful during this time

fingers crossed you will be ok just remember from now on use protection, its very easy to get carried away with the moment and hope you will be ok but its best to be safe than sorry. im sure you dont want another one just yet!

I don;t know if you are, but if your breastfeeding apparently they say its a bit harder to get preggy so quick again, it can still happen but it little bit harder...

My health visitor told me it's a highly fertile time, that breastfeeding is viewed as a form of contraception but that it's not fool proof and if you really wanted to avoid another conception to use something other than "I'm breastfeeding" type thing.

yes i'd heard that about breast feeding, i am but only alongside bottles. bottles mainly so doubt it'll make a difference.

i don't know really, i haven't even had my first period after Jack.

I know it's normally due around about the 6 week mark after giving birth (i think this is right, correct me if not)

but without having a proper cycle i'm not sure when i should worry about being late if you see what i mean.

yes i read your post and thats what made me so worried as really hadn't thought of consequences (sp?) until then.

hope your doing ok hun, you'll be fine i'm sure. just try and sit back and enjoy it. know it's not ideal but plenty have done it before you and plenty will do it after (poss me) us mummies always find a way of coping. lots of sent your way

if i had sex wed thur and fru last week without using anything and i haven't had my first period yet and am not sure when it would be due when do you think i should test?

the ttc girls might know better than me but isn't it meant to take about a week for the spermies to actually get to the egg? if I had thought about it before hand, you may have been able to get the morning afterpill even though it would only been 50% effective by Tuesday? though it's not a great plan i guess, and it's no help to you now anyway, sorry

You need to wait at least 12 days but preferably 14+ days from the first day you had unprotected sex. Even if that's negative you need to retest if your period still doesn't arrive - up to about 3 weeks after the last day you had unprotected sex. If you don't get a positive by then then you're pretty much certainly not pregnant.

You ovulate approx 2 weeks before your period arrives - so you're first period after birth comes 2 weeks after you are first fertile.

see us TTCers are good for something any questions about periods or pregnancy tests...bring them on
