Pregnancy side effects

Hi Ladies,

I was just curious as to what "side effects" you girls are getting during your pregnancy (if any) other than morning sickness, tiredness and sore boobs.

For me it seems to be bad spots, very dry cracked lips and the worst one of all..........I am having very weird vivid nightmares on a regular basis which is rather unpleasant to say the least!

Anyone know why nightmares can be quite common in pregnancy?

Hi H16, apart from m/s i having really bad dizzy spells and have passed out a few times, but everytime i have passed out they have found nothing wrong, im tri 2 and the spells are happening more often to the point my dr have signed me off work and advised me to stop driving. I also get alot of headaches too. im not sure about nightmares tho, only had a few really nasty ones.

Hi ya. I also have really bad skin at the moment...come out in spots and all sorts. Also I have had 3 really vivid nightmares since being pregnant and they are not nice are they!? I think it's all of the extra hormones whizzing around and maybe that it's out brains subconsciously thinking bad things. :/ xx congrats on ur pg btw! xxx

I also have some spots around my chin and a few scary dreams. No morning sickness and I'm 10+4 so hopefully I skipped that one!!!

Sickness hit me real bad today.
I always have bad spots due to PCOS but yes nightmares - past 3 nights I've had once where my parents and my brother hurt me so I loose the baby or they kill my baby
Makes me wake up real angry,stressed and upset

Oh word those dreams sound horrible! Poor u! m/s hit me big time yesterday couldn't keep anything down until 12.30 and had to leave work! Xx

I have always had really really bad skin from when I was 11. I had a small outbreak around 7 weeks ago but other than that no spots, I am experiencing the dreams though, I wake up and I know lots has been happening but can't really remember what!! Also have a really dry mouth when I wake up and I end up having to get up in the night to go to the loo because if it, I drink around two glasses of water between going to bed and getting up!
The usual sickness is a right pain. Extremely bad today and I have things I want to do!

Your nightmares sound similar to mine.....I dream about people I know trying to hurt me and about miscarriage. Horrible.

I have been having even worse vivid dreams than normal too, to the point I am trying to make sure I am absolutely shattered going to bed because then they don't seem to be so bad.

When I was having my first my nightmares were terrible too, we went on holiday to a caravan and I had an extremely bad dream in the middle of the night that has left me with issues since, I woke up screaming. The next evening we were in the pub attached to the caravan site and overheard some other residents on the campsite saying 'Did you hear that screaming in the middle of the night, I don't know what it was'...I'd woken half the campsite screaming so it seems. I hope I don't get anything that bad again.

My only other pregnancy symptoms atm seems to be my IBS playing up and stretching pains, and a bit of Nausea

Cos waking up stressed and upset can't be doing the babies any good.

Spots and my hair has gone dull, all the shine has gone out of it. Having some crazy dreams too but that could be because ive been on nights.

Oh god at least it's not just me. I woke up this morning after a really, really horrible nightmare. Think I would've been sick after it with or without morning sickness and has made me feel upset all day.
These side effects are rubbish. At least they'll all be worth it in another 6 months!x

Lol me too! We an put in a joint claim. I've had very vivid dreams too and horrible headaches which have sometimes turned into migranes.

I'm not far enough along yet for the M/s and nightmares. I'm suffering from a bad back and waking early

Whats the deal with being awake at 4.15am?! My shift at work is 10 hours long! I'm never gonna get to the end if it today!

I've had really vivid dreams and some nightmares, usually being suffocated in some way. I'm seriously claustrophobic so all might nightmares tend to be around this!

Awful taste in my mouth. Not mettalic but just weird!

I've not had much sickness, but unpleasant upset tomach every morning (ick), & a constant nausea, that never goes away! I feel like I need to eat constantly, as, when my stomach is full, the nausea eases! If it carries on much longer, I will be the size of a house!! I'm not sleeping well, either, but that could be to do with the weather, as much as anything else.
