Hello ladies,

just need some advice really..im 12 weeks now, went to a job interview yesterday and they called this morning saying I was successful and can start this weekend.
I didn't tell them about the pregnancy as I wasn't sure I should at that stage...when should I say? I'm going to be on my feet a lot, most of the day and would need to tell them about certain things I couldn't do, so I'm guessing it should be soon. (or just after the induction)

am I going about this the right way? Xx

.... You don't need to tell them until 25 weeks i think
Are you in a job already though?
You need to consider maternity rules if youre not there so long before going off - you might be entitled to less
Id tell them as youll need a risk assessment done
Depends how you feel though
I was so ill in thr beginning i had to let them know x

this will be my only job...I left another that was messing me about with shifts, pay. I've recently left university so it's been stressful with finding work and starting again pretty much. I know my maternity entitlement will be nothing....but I'll apply for the maternity allowance? stressful times! not sure what to do really.

As for work and risk assessments, I'll tell them sooner rather than later. just don't want to be expected to do things I shouldn't be and risk anything.
Thank you for your reply Xx

If its just a job or potentially a career... Id handle it differently
One is a means to an end. See how it goes and tell them if youre concerned by the activities
The other id be open and honest especially if you want to come back after baby is born x

You won't get SMP, and as above you don't need to inform them for a while. Unless there's things you don't want to do. They can't discriminate against you because you're pregnant, but that doesn't stop some being a little awkward unfortunately :-( hope yours is a good employer xx
