This is the one piece of essential things to buy where i literally have no clue on what i should be getting :wall2:

There are sooooo many out there, so i just need a bit of advice and recommendations please?

If i said our budget is maybe £400 - i would hope we would get a decent enough one for that?

My oh is the one who has been doing more research than me and says we need to get one that we can use right up to when our baby turns 3.

As i am sure all mums will say- nothing too complicated and light weight....but other than that i am open to recommendations and also advice on which prams NOT to get also.

Thanks in advance <3

I had a cossato first time round and will be using it again for this one. Got the car seat, pram and pushchair which all clips into the frame for about £500.
I chose cosatto just because of the funky prints, I didn’t want a plain pram 😆 and I loved it. Only thing I didn’t like was the handle didnt extend up (I’m tall) but it wasn’t overly uncomfortable.
Will be getting a buggy board to attach to it for DD1.

I've got the silvercross wayfarer that came with the carrycot, pushchair seat, car seat and isofix base. This should last right from newborn til toddling, but I do find the newer pram seats are on the smaller side. So I might have to trade the silvercross for a buggy once he/she is older.

The travel system are kinda expensive but you can pick them up really cheaply if you don't mind second hand.

I've got the Chicco Trio Love system (carrycot, pushchair part, car seat that can clip onto the pram frame and base) and I'm finding it great so far (DD was born in July).

I think on it's own it costs around £600 so maybe a little outside your budget but we got it in a pack that also included a next2me, high chair, bouncer and baby bath/changing table, and the offer saved us around £400 I think it was.

Thanks Ladies - i think i just threw £400 out there as a random figure with no thought to it  so maybe we might need to up the budget. I think with something like this you cant really afford to go cheap, its almost going to be an attachment to my right arm for 9 months to a year, so want to make sure i am really happy with it <3

Obviously a first timer here so I can't speak from experience yet but I can tell you some of the things that helped us make a choice.

We decided on the iCandy Strawberry. Lightweight we a big factor for me as I'm petite anyway and it was one of the lightest travel systems we tried. I took a lot of advice from my sister and she always said that as lovely as her Silver Cross was (though this was 6 years ago), it was so heavy and she also had a big baby so the added weight didn't help!!

Think about if you want it to be a travel system as that will often influence your car seat choices if it doesn't come with a car seat. If it doesn't come with a car seat, some come with adapters and some don't.

Some take a child up to 25kg but some only up to 15kg so bear that in mind if you're aiming to have only one buy. Realistically though, I think a lot of people swap to a cheap lightweight stroller when they're older.

Adjustable handle height especially if you're both different heights. OH is much taller than me and it's important as we'll both be using it.

Some you need to buy the carry cot separate. Some are suitable for overnight sleeping and some aren't so worth considering if you think that would be useful if you were visiting relatives etc.

I love the icandy prams, had one when my daughter was a baby x

6 months on I'm still using my mamas and papas sola2.

I love it we got it just after Xmas at around £400 as it was 50% off

I had the sola2 when my little one got to big for his pram. They are lovely pushchairs, so easy to push.

The carry cots are big too my little girl only came out of hers at 5 months

I have very expensive taste when it comes to prams and i have already chosen which one i want even though i am not pregnant! That's when you know your full on nuts!
My choice would be the egg and have told the OH, a pram replaces your handbag so it has to be a gooden :rotfl:

My friend suggested this when i put my insta snap moaning about how many there were and for so much money. She recommend her pram, the egg, in prosecco colour (very apt for her) - i said 'yea, we dont have that kinda budget' she has wealthy parents :oooo:

Just looking at this one on pram world and actually i think it could potentially be the one
Its a 4 piece bundle for £425 and has good reviews - cant argue with that.
