post section injections?

i had a c section on friday morning and have been home since late saturday night. i was given an injection of clexane in the hospital and another at home yesterday. i was left one syringe and told to administer it myself today and ive tried but i really cant do it, my last attempt ended with me crying hysterically to my oh about how pathetic i am, i am so scared of needles and now i just cant even think straight ive gotten myself so worked up! stupid i know
my oh offered to do it but im just too scared now plus im worried as its been uncapped and exposed to the air for so long! i made the mistake of googling how to inject it and the method i kept reading is different to what i remember the midwife telling me yday so now im scared if i do do it i will do it wrong and it will hurt even more!!

this is rambly, but has anyone else had these injections after birth? would i be ok to leave it and call the hospital tomorrow to see if they would send a midwife out to help me?

I'm sure it's ok if u leave it hon, they blood thinners I think to stop clots? My oh did mine and I just didnt look, a little atingy but not too bad.!in thigh is not too bad just stick it in and press down, but if ur really phobic then understand if you're worried. I had 7 days worth though, one a day. U just have the one?

i just had a course of 3, this was the last one so i feel really pathetic that i couldnt even manage one! im going to call the midwife in the morning and see what they want me to do, xxx

Glad you got it sorted. Don't think I could have done it myself. OH has been doing it for me, bless him! They gave me 5 doses to take. It's weird how much this varies throughout the country!! xxx

Ah I have a 14 day course of these after having a laparoscopy, I'm on day 3 so only 11 to go I agree it's horrid but as I still have bubs inside I'm spurning myself on for their sake.xx

Yeah that is weird! I had 7 injections! Made my oh do them too! Turned into a complete scary cat after labour weirdly haha! Xxx

I only had 5 , first one they did in hosp and showed me, next one i was still in hosp and had to do it myself, and after doing a summer of ivf am no stranger to injecting myself, but mine bruised really badly, i asked the midwife next day ( first day at home) if i was doing something wrong, she just said dont rub it after. The next one was even worse! So I gave them to midwife and didnt do last two! I thought i have survived 6 abdo surgerys now without them and im very mobile so tuff! Ha

I had a week's worth so four to do at home. I used to look at Hannah and do it. Bloody hurts though!

I have an injection to give myself And I'm anxious! Got my first one to do tonight. Was a bit stingy in the hospital so god knows what it will be like when I've done it myself

I didn't do them very naughty I know! But I did one & thought no its not for me lol. My justification was that women have been having babies for centuries & never needed them lol. But I know you should do them really x

I was close to leaving the one they told me to do myself, if someone hasn't been happy to come and do it for me at home then I very much doubt I would have managed it!! Xxx
