Ok, I am AWFUL at using condoms so that's a no!
Eventually I want to have the mirena coil put back in. I had that after Benjamin was born and had no problems with it.

I want something that I can straight after birth. If I remember right, can you get the depo injection whilst you are on the postnatal ward? I'm sure I've been told that you can. it would be perfect for me cause me and oh seem to be back to normal by the end of the 2nd week, and for the time being 3 babies is enough!

anyone know anything about it? do we just ask for it? does it or even could it affect breastfeeding in any way?

I went back on the pill... I dont know why as it clearly didnt work last time.. and iv missed about 4 so far, an im only in my 2nd month...

Must use something else.

I have the coil at the moment, before ttc I had the injection after a m/c and I HATED it!! I put on weight, didn't get a period the whole time..basically I didn't feel in control of my body which I hated. We were ttc straight after it was supposed to wear off and I didn't get a proper period, going from spotting to 2 full on bleeds a month. Then I fell pregnant.

Everyone's different, I get on better with the coil. But if you were going to try for another baby I would reccommend you use a non hormonal contraception in the months leading up to TTC because alot of womens fertility doesn't come back straight after the injection.

I had the depo but waited til my 8 week check. I breastfeed and it doesn't affect it. I was on the pill before but clearly rubbish at remembering to take it. They told me i could only take the mini pill after if BF. Just ask them when they come round to check on you before you go home.
Not sure what i'm gonna do when my 3 months is up though as the depo really doesn't agree with me!

was all too confusing for me the "pull out and blow my load" all over your belly or back is workin just fine for the time being.

ROFL no mincing your words there midna :rotfl:

I'm on cerazette now (progesterone only), haven't had another period since I started it either. Still insisting OH uses condoms too as reaaaaaaaaaaally don't want to get pregnant again yet.

we're not using anything either - flying without parachutes  we're not bothering with the pull out bit either... but then i'm bf-ing every 1.5/2 hours and i have pcos, so i don't think i'm enormously fertile at the moment.

we're also not having sex that often - i find that works as a contraceptive

Was doing that one but was getting too paranoid when AF was due especially when I was 3 days late this month.

Gone on the Mini pill now :( OH keeps saying he will go get the snip :talkhand: bet he doesn't.

Hmmmm. I was an advocate of this particular method used in conjuction with condoms when we were feeling pious....

it clearly doesnt have a 100% success rate....

I went to see my GP about contraception and he only offered me the mini pill or coil because of breastfeeding but we're just using condoms because i got pregnant with DD while on the pill and i don't fancy the coil.

The condoms are going to run out though soon and I'm refusing to buy them anymore, Looks like i might get no#2 after all

I was on the injection and when I was on it and for that relationship it was fine but t took 18months for my body to return to normal - and when I fell pregnant. I didnt have a period which was nice but always had me paranoid as I didnt know if it was working. Now I want something that means I can TTC as soon as it comes out but Im so scared of a contraception I cant see like jonnys ( does that make sense) :rotfl:

it's going to be at least 5 years before we think of ttc again. It def wont be before the baby is at school.

So really the coil is a perfect contraceptive for us. it's just for that first six weeks or so that i don't want there to be a risk of getting caught again. (not that im even sure we'll have time for sex in the first six weeks lol).

Have you thought about contraceptive implant? It has the same hormones as mini pill. It is inserted for 3 years and you just forget about it  I have one and I am loving it!

yeah i've head of it, but i haven't really looked into it much.

can you see/feel it when it's in? did it hurt much going in? how do they take it out?

im getting that new coil thing fitted this week    YAY!! cant wait to stop using condoms again.

I have the patch, which is the same as the combined pill, but in a patch that you put on for a week at a time. You do this for 3 weeks then a week off. It is much better for me as I was useless at remembering the pill, I just set a reminder on my phone for the same time every week now. (Although we haven't actually has sex yet, so it may be useless as a contraceptive!)

Back on the combined pill after 6 week check (had stopped breastfeeding by then). Started to take it immediately without waiting for my periods to come back as they can be very unpredictable (that's not what the doctor advised me but that's what the instructions leaflet was saying...). Have to go back soon for new prescription but for some reason the doctor is trying to pressure me into having a coil fitted... but I don't want one! I'm quite happy taking the pill as I've never had any trouble with it in the past... reached the age of 32 without getting pregnant

Ideally i wanna go bk on the pill, i was on yasmin for years and it was great i regulated my periods asi wanted to and i was able to lose weight on it rather then put it on. Looks like if im BFing i wont be able to (though im sure the leaflet the hossi gave me said i could

ATM sex is soemthing very foreign lol, it's not that im scared or anything i just cant be bothered, plus theres no time to get in the mood and as me and Dave havnt been together like that since before of got pregnant it's not soemthing i want to be a quicky before bed.

I'm going to look in to the implant and its side affects etc (but i'm secretly hoping to be able to have another baby when Tally is 2 and obviously the injection may mess my body up for a bit) I dont wanna accidently fall pregnant again and i'm crap at condoms, that much is pretty evident!!!
