Does anyone know what porridge is ok for a one year old? I am still buying baby cereal and it costs a fortune, so want to move him onto adult cereal but not sure what is safe for him to have x

I was told at Islas 7-9 month assessment that readybrek is fine, I must admit I'm still giving her baby porridge as I'd bought loads of boxes! Once they are done I'm going on to readybrek and use milkshake powder to flavour the milk. (my mum used to feed me that and Im ok!)

Emma x

ive been givin my zak readybrek its fine for babies apparently and doesnt seem to have done him any harm he loves it as well as weetabix xxx

Lizzie's been having readybrek and weetabix recently and is fine, with cows milk too :)
I don't see how 'proper' porridge could hurt as long as it's cooked properly so there aren't the husky bits that he could choke on?

Noa have never had baby porridge, I just mix oats n milk, cheapest ever. Sometime I put in dried fruit n sometimes a tsp jam. I think this is ok, he have thus about twice a week x
Another cheap breakfast is natural youchurt ( own brands about 25p) mix with some fruits!

Thanks ladies, will get some readybrek and weetabix in. I tried him with yoghurt and fruit but he refuses cold food for breakfast, but will have it as pudding after lunch/dinner x

Asda do something similar to the sunny start wheaty biscuits.

We do readybrek and weetabix now from 6 months. I bet cornflakes crushed up when dry till dusty would work, also rice crispies go mushy too , actually I think I will try them next time:)
