So who were actively trying for a baby and who got a surprise?

We decided to try one night (after quite a lot of alcohol) and I just knew straight away. We had unprotected sex once in 2 years and get pregnant  Someone has super sperm!

We were trying 4 ages before i fell preg so ours was very much planned! My oh had his appointment 2 have sperm tests which was 2 days after i got my positive so luckily he didnt have 2 go and do that!

We got BFP unexpectedly in October - turned out to be a chemical pregnancy

Then we decided following that to try our luck and 'see what happened' - BFP again straight away but m/c at 5 weeks

Then decided to keep trying our luck and fell again straight away.

So I guess you could say planned but suprised it happened so quickly!

I get what you mean! I'm actually really thankful it was so easy for us, seeing as my mum only ever ovulated twice even with loads of fertility treatment and she's said since we got pregnant she was so worried I'd go through what she did.

We'd been trying for awhile (since 2005)
This year we'd not really tried, but we've not used any protection for years. November I told him we were going to give it a proper try and i told him to book me in for the 9 days around ovulation. I ovulated early and was gutted as we'd only managed to BD a couple of times before ovulation, I assumed we'd missed out.
So planned, yet a suprise, mainly cos we'd not managed to get pregnant for so long before now.
xx

Well we had been trying since feb/march (off the record) and then got pg in may and lots it in june. then got pg again in nov.

So yes planned :)

Not exactly planned, but I was playing with fire with missing my pill cuz I was an eejit. But I knew what I was doing....

Most definitely planned, all my 3 pregnancies have been, no shocks for me! :D

We went for the not trying not preventing method, although you could always find me in TTC hehe! But yes it was sort of planned then but I diddn't want to get all stressed out about it. Took us 3 months to get out BFP. :cheer:

Ours was very much planned - I've been off the pill since our wedding in march, and we'd discussed when we thought would be a good idea, so were WTT all summer. Thing is, I'd convinced myself and thought I'd convinced DH that waiting another year would be a good idea (I'm 31) so I could get a promotion at work. Turns out, one tipsy night, that he wasn't convinced, so I changed my mind, got pg within three weeks and got promoted in December! Hadn't really had a chance to prepare myself mentally, and have had such bad MS that haven't been to work since and have already been signed off for all of next week. How's my timing?!

Just thought I'd gatecrash

We decided to try after our wedding - we fell PG on our wedding night and got our BFP when we returned from Honeymoon. Was planned but still a total shock that it happened so quickly !

Still, hormonal probably wasn't the best way to start of married life! :rotfl:

The biggest shock i have ever had in my life, when i was 17 i had a lot of problems, never had proper periods and had some abnormal cells removed, i was told i would never be bale to have children, i was gutted, but over the years came to terms with that, so never used contraception, i am now 27 and pregnant :cheer: so yes i was totally shocked but very very happy

Ours is planned.

Got my BFP on the 4th cycle which i suppose is not that long but it felt like a lifetime

Very much planned. After the mmc in December 2007, we started trying again in March 2008. We hadn't fell pregnant after trying for over 6 months, so I made an appointment with a fertility specialist only to find out two days later that I was blooming pregnant :cheer: I ended up cancelling the appointment :D Oh, we used pre-seed and ovulation sticks I bought off E-bay, and it seemed to have worked for us

ours was def planned. we started talking about it this tiime last year and i had the implant removed in march and got my bfp in april. unfortunately to mc in june. then i had a chemical preg in august. then fell preg again in october but mc again. and finallly preg again!!!!!! so yes well and truly planned to the point it nearly turned me loopy.

Complete shock for me - I've been on the pill for over 10 years. I hadn't missed any or been ill or anything. Periods had been irregular for a couple of months so didn't think anything of it when I was 5 days late and only bled for 2 days.

Gosh was I shocked when the doctor rang me to say - 'you do know you're pregnant don't you?' after a urine test for something else. I was almost 7 weeks when I found out - it explained the sore boobs and feeling sick though.

Once I'd picked myself up of the floor I was very excited!

BOTH for me........Planned and a surprise!

I was planning on getting pregnant, but after 18 years on the pill I wasnt expecting it to happen after just 6 weeks :D

Complete suprise for me. Not even sure how it happened! Very much welcome suprise now we are both over the shock :D
