Hi ladies,

Just wanted to rant before my antenatal class.

Basically, my line manager told me on the sly today that our manager has had a moan about me and I'm really pissed off about it.

I've got antenatal classes, arranged by mw at local surgery, for 6 weeks. They're every Monday 2pm - 4pm and I even got a letter to show them  So he's annoyed I've not got evening classes, even though they haven't been offered.

The thing that really miffs me is I was off about 3 weeks ago for 2 days sick. I've never once had a sick day in 3 years. Nothing. I though f it and had one. I've come to work throughout morning sickness etc and never complained to them.

Anyhoo, last week I had a cold and felt like shit, but didn't want to take a sick day (sods law) so took a holiday. He said to my line manager that maybe they should be looking at me taking early maternity leave if I need to take a holiday for a cold!

ARSEHOLE.

I'm the service HR Assistant so know my rights really and that this is a load of bollocks but it really pisses me off that I work my arse off for them, am never off sick (when half of the place is off every other week for a runny nose), and I still take a hol for sickness - when I shouldn't - and he has the cheek to say that behind my back like I'm some pregnant pain in the arse. The annoying this is I can't say anything as was told in confidence.

Seriously thinking of going off sick now to piss them off.

Rant over. Lol.

xxxx

On a separate note, 30 weeks today. Mini milestone :D

Yeah they are quick enough to have a go about something sincere but u get no thanks for remaining loyal. Pisses me off
Yay for 30 weeks though :cheer: x

 thanks hun. Exactly how I feel. X

Your boss sounds like a right pain in the arse, no wonder your angry :hugs: hope you enjoy your anti natal class

On a better note congrats on 30 weeks :) xxx

I got sacked when I first found out I was pregnant for something similar to this. I had really bad morning sickness and didn't intend on telling them I was pregnant till a lot later on. I rung in sick and was then rung up the day after to be told I was being sacked for being too unreliable. I wouldn't have minded but this was April/may time and from january I had only had 3 days off!

ur manager is a complete A- hole!!!! it really hurts when you sacrifice and dedicate your life to ur job and then the one time u need to catch a bit of rest some third rate tight arsed manager starts to complain. i was in a similar situation in the first few weeks of my pregnancy, had been working with them for 2 years straight without leave, i was the CEO's PA and even had to work on holidays and weekends most of the time and then i got preggers and one stupid HR worm asked me " so who do you expect to hold down your job now that u are incapacitated?" all i said was "oh that's not gonna be a problem at all, as of now i quit" i smiled, picked up my bag and came home to a welcome bed and had some much needed sleep. it was a shitty job anyways.,

Oh hun what a complete arse!!!

Good job you know your rights!!!

YAY for 30 weeks!!!!

Thanks ladies, I needed to get that off my chest! Sorry that others have had a poor time of it.

Pos - unfortunately not. I'm stand alone and service based so report to the facilities manager of one of our services (I work for a council).

xx

It's a big mistake on his part because next time you wont waste your holiday for a cold you'll go sick and there'll be f all he can do about it and he'd wish he was a little nicer.

congrats on 30 weeks hun and as the other girls have said your boss is an arse !!!! xxx

Tbh I'm thinking of taking a week off just to spite him now! x

i have not had a single day off sick yet in this pregnancy....yet i finished at 4pm once the other week and got told off about it!! ffs...

and i never take a lunch hour....i was so annoyed...

xx

Yay for 30 weeks! The count down really begins now! Exciting!
Your boss is a royal dip stick, he's obvously not getting anything at home lol

What a moron! I would take great pleasure in taking a week off then explaining to him theres F**k all he can do about it because he cant treat pregnancy sickness the same as normal sickness, hehe

I got sacked for similar stuff, all of a sudden after dedicated years of never being off working hard and not able to have lunch hours, I go at 12 for midwife and they create some drama that didn't happen, tears.

I would defo take the week off, you need rest and no stress! X

 What is wrong with some people?! And yet others seem to get away with having days off sick every week whenever they have a bit of a cold! Starting your maternity leave early because you took a day's holiday for a cold?!! But if you'd just decided to have a day off as holiday I suppose that would be just fine! I'm pissed off for you!! x

Congrats on reaching 30 weeks- the weeks fly along from here on in!!
As for your Manager, yep he's an a-hole and I would definitely take a week off 'sick'. Let him put that in his pipe and smoke it and see how he likes it!
