personal quirks..

Does anyone have little quirky things that they just have to do?!

When I make a tea/coffee I can't help but tap the teaspoon on the edge of the mug 3 times after I've stirred it!

Now I come to think of it there are loads of silly little quirks I have..do you have any weird ones or am I the only oddball here?!

When I go to bed I check on teej go to the toilet brush my teeth check on teej again then read, after reading - even if it only for two minutes I have to go to the toilet again even though I don't need, then I have to check on teej again then I get into bed, if I don't fall straight asleep and I hear teej make a noise I then have to get up and check on him again! Exhausting!!

when i go to bed i have to put the covers over me and then lift my legs up till the end bit drops and folds down under my feet like a lil envelope. Then DH kicks the covers flat cus hes a lot taller than me and his legs poke out

no am strange too, when i leave the house i check the door is locked by tapping the handle three times i just have to do it av been known to walk back up the street if i carnt remember doing it three times! i also go round the house and unplug everything at night drives OH mad but i just carnt hepl it hahah

you do mean things like this dont you (am so easily confused ) xx

well sometimes my other half makes us a bowl of washed grapes to eat watching telly..

and I always always always have to tap each one 3 times on the edge of the bowl before I eat it.. weird!

I also like to smell my chocolate bars before I take the first bite.

There are a million more i could mention.. but some are just a bit silly!! hehe

In my tins/jars cupboard I have to have all the labels facing forwards. To me it's not weird, it just makes sense! It freeks DH out though!

Umm....I'm sure there must be more...

(Pilkers - Aren't you glad you moved this? It would have just been you and me otherwise. Look at all these freeks come to join us!!)

I admit I do the switching off plug sockets if the switch says on but there's nothing in it. That does annoy me, I just don't like the idea of random electric floating around - not that it actually does anyway...

I also have this thing where 2 things have to be together? Hard to explain, but if say I have to wash one cuddly toy, I'll find another one to go in the wash with it too so it's not lonely..? I think it stems from me often feeling very lonely while I was growing up so I feel bad for things that are on their own.

I also give things names and make them talk... probably also because it was one of those things I used to do to make me feel less lonely.

I have LOADS of random silly thing I have to do - borderline OCD OH tries telling me.

I stir 3 times and tap 3 times
draining board has to be just right - big plates at the back, then small plates then dishes. cutlery has to be the right way up.
tins have to be the right way round in the cupboard, and in lines of matching tins - I'm ok with peas and carrots getting mixed though
ironing has to be done in people order, oldest first

I used to label my coat hangers, so my wierdness is getting better

I like to smell plastic things or things that have been wrapped in plastic. I think it stems from the smell of new toys when I was a kid. I also like the smell of new books

im the same as leckershell. actually
if i see a plug on and theres nothing in it i HAVE TO turn it off, and if i leave it, i wil have to go back and do it cos i wil keep thinking about it, its so annoying.

i always have to wash out glasses before i use them.(prolly normal)
when i go out the door i have to rattle the door to make sure its shut.

when i check my mobile i have to slide it 2 times before leaving it.

i have to smell things from tins before i eat it, i dunno why.

Oooow i love touching things that have shiny smooth plastic on. Or things that have a few different textures, i have to rub each one the same number of times or it gives me a head ache

We're not glass Pilkingtons either - bakers and confectioners from Newton Heath and Barton. Who needs glass when you can have cakes

I have to turn all switches off b4 bed.
All my ornaments have to be straight and just so, like equally away from the edge on both side and at the same angle.
I like to smell the bottom of barm cakes
I wear glasses and I have to pull my hair out from underneath them were they go behind my ears at least a million times a day
Food has to be nice and neat on the plate and if we are having a roast I never put the gravy over the veg

Thats it I'm stopping now

And if I notice a spelling mistake on the post I've made I must go and correct it

I used to have this thing where I liked the toilet roll to always come underneath the roll instead of over the top and I would even change it in other peoples houses and public places! I had a little word with myself after about two years of doing this!!! I also thought it was bad luck if when ripping the toilet paper it tore instead of ripping nicely through the perferations! Apparantly I once told one of my friends this and she now thinks it's bad luck too! It's not - just another one of my weirdo thought!!

I think we as a nation are all slightly autistic which is why we do these weird things!
