Period-type pains

Hi,

I've been having very irregular period type pains for the last two days now. I've had a couple of quite sharp ones today but mostly they are just like normal period cramps. I slept through last night from 2am till 9am with only one loo stop - which is unusual as I've not been sleeping at all, so they can't be too bad! I've also had brown discharge for the last 3 days (sorry if TMI!).

Questions is, is this likely to be the start of labour? If so, how long could it last? It's really annoying as I feel really shite aswell - just like at the beginning of my period!

Ive been having this too for the last week, on and off. Can you tell if your bump is tightening at the same time as youre feeling it? I think it is a good sign, but mine still havent stayed too long, or got regular. Fingers crossed this is it for you!!

I think it does get tight and some of them tonight have been quite strong, so still hoping they lead somewhere. I never realised it could be like this - I thought once you started getting pains they would gradually increase and then you'd be in labour! This doesn't happen on Eastenders!!!!

I know, its ridiculous, all this teasing our bodies are doing! Im kinda glad it doesnt happen like this on tv, it would be sooo boring to watch

Hope things are starting for you tonight. Im having some pains too... still quite vague and Im not certain if it really is the start or not. so annoying, I wish you could just know!!

Some of these pains have stopped me talking and made me go and sit down for a couple of minutes now, but they're still very irregular. I'll have two in 10 mins that last for most of that time and then nothing at all for half an hour.

I agree Tiny, it would be boring to watch!!! I just want to get on with it now - am so worried that they'll stop and I'll go back to waiting with nothing happening. At least I feel like we have some progress! Good luck with yours too. x

Sounds like slow labour to me mine went on for ages with my two babies x x x

Hiya,
I've been getting bad period pains for a while now. Mine don't come and go though, they stay for hours and hours rather than follow a pattern. I asked my MW if it was anything, and she said prob just body getting ready... well it hasn't done anything yet!
But if the cramps come wwith tightening I would say could be pre-labour?
