Pelvic Floor Challenge!

Hi Everyone :wave:

This is a personal challenge but it would be great if anyone can join me, I need a bit of motivation.

I haven't ever done pelvic floors, I was told with my 1st, but didn't bother, and i've been regretting it ever since, and lets just say i've had some problems with leaking loool. So I really want to start doing them with this baby. I know how to do them, and the benefits, I just cant seem to remind myself to actually do them.

So i've been doing a bit of research and i'm planning to do 10 sets a day, but for the first couple of weeks i'm gonna aim for 6 a day, then up it. This is really important to me, as I dont want to end up worse off than I am already.

So I thought I would post daily with how many i've done....untill i'm able to do it without reminding.

i've done 4 today, not 4 sets of 10 just 4 loool - but gonna try tomorrow doing alot of travelling so i'll try and remember when getting on and off train ect.

Right ok, i'll be honest, I was gonna say i've done 1 set but the whole truth is that I started doing them when I seen this thread in my user cp looooool

totally forgot to do them when I was out. Best get my act together coz its the back of 5 already.

Ive managed 6 sets of 10 upto now, not bad for a busy day x x

I did my first set after my last post and just done my 2nd set.

I'll join as of Monday! Lol.

I tried the last few days on and off and I'm either doing it wrong, or there is something wrong with me! I swear I feel like I've been doing squats, my arse cheeks are sore lol.

When you first start the exercises, check that you are doing them correctly. Put your hands on your abdomen and buttocks to make sure you can’t feel your belly, thighs, or buttocks moving.
  • Don't hold your breath. You should be able to hold a conversation at the same time, or try counting aloud while you're doing the exercises.
  • Don't tighten the tummy, thigh or buttock muscles - you'll be exercising the wrong muscle groups.
  • Don't squeeze your legs together.

Thanks :) Lol I've obviously been squeezing the wrong muscles! I find it quite hard. I can squeeze the front no probs but bum at the same time I struggle with!

Yeah its hard to tell if your doing the right thing, its hard because you cant actually watch yourself doing it, like with other exercises.

I can defo do it at the back, im trying at the front but i cant feel much, duno if its coz i have rubbish muscles there.

Anyway......i've done 6 sets today and i'm over the moon

I seem to have a wierd habit of holding my breath while i'm doing them though.

Fingers crossed for another good day tomorrow.

Oh and guess what - things are defo better leakage wise, no exaduration, i've had literally 0. How good is that. Dont want to tempt fate though, might just be a lucky day, although it wld be the first in years loool

So glad things are getting better for you hun!! i hope it stays that way.. keep it up your doing great! tbh ive had alot on my mind so ive forgotten til now lol!!

Ive managed 6 sets today, even though I neally forgot all the running around I have been doing the last few days, I cant wait to move back home x x


 
Thanks ladies

It is very hard to remember. I only really remembered at around 7pm today but have managed to do 3 sets so far and will try and do another 3 sets before bed.

I'm glad its paying off. Really hope this works.

I'm sure it will, you've made great progress keep it up!! It's great encouragement when you can see results so quickly!!
