I am sooo confused!!!

We live in chelmsford and were recentlyreferred for further tests. (My OH produces no sperm at all. )
We were referred to the Saffron Walden Community Hospital had our appt last week and go back in 4 weeks for results of the bloods he took. Where we will find out if its just "one of thoise things nothing they can do" or pituitary gland hormonal problem which could be fixed with injections. (very slim chance)
My question is, saffron walden comes under adenbrookes cambridge and our doc said as i have a dughter already with my ex we wont be entitled to anything other than the jabs to be funded by nhs.
But A) Surely there is a hospital nearer me that could see us, someone has mentioned basildon for example in another thread. Last week we travelled for 1 hour for a 10 minute appt and blood test. and B) Surely that hospital is run by a totaly different PCT so how do i know what difference that would/could make to any funding.
Where or how can i find this info out, we will never be able to fund ivf or anything ourselves :(

Thanks girls

I'm really sorry puzzle but having existing children will disqualify you and your partner for funding in any PCT :(

You have to have no existing children between you both.

Yeah we thought as much. It sucks big time! We are great parents and just want a little brother or sister for my lil lady yet those parents out there like the ones in the paper yesterday can just keep on hving children that are treated poorly. Soo not fair

Isn't there any surgery to maybe fix your hubby?

I am not sure if this helps, but we were told that you dont have to actually have treatment at your local NHS hospital. Ours is Basildon. We are only going there for our initital tests then we are asking to be referred to Barts in London. Basically your local NHS fertility hospital with have a contract with other hospitals so it is your right to ask to be referred to those other 'contacted' hospitals. Having said that Puzzle i agree with Louise B in that they won't fund IVF for couples who already have existing children even if not from the same relationship. We have recently been looking at egg sharing and free IVF through our private hospital in Harley street (where we are having our initial tests done) and they is a free IVF programme if you share eggs.. Perhaps you want to look at that? It is called Create Heath. I think if your hubby has low sperm then you are looking at ICSI but ask louise B as she knows loads about the best treatments for low sperm etc etc. She is really nice and I am sure she won't mind you asking. She was able to read my hubby sperm results.

Love Gizzy xxx

Thanks for all your advice. Gizzy kelly, his count isn't just low though, he doesn't produce anything at all. Therefore there are no options except ivf with donor sperm. Will look into that hospital if needs be though so thank u for that.
Louis B i dont think there is no, as it is a production problemn not blockage problem. He has very small testicles so chances are he has never and will never produce anything. I am gutted!

I don't know if this is inappropriate... but you could try insemination with donor sperm instead of IVF which would be more cheaper or even free.

You could even use your OHs brother or cousin or something if they were up for it.
