mine started with really horrible thoughts like i was going die or something really bad was gonna happen i would gradually build up into a state of panic like hysterical breathing really fast, couldnt get my breath, like i wanted to run away from something. then i would calm down.
ive heard loads of different descriptions of how a panic attack feels i think its an individual thing, it might be what your feeling.
i had a really bad one about 5 years ago i was at OH house we were watching a film and one came on i started flapping around the room saying i dont wanna die ohg were all gonna die like hyperventilating:oops: he must have thought i was a nut!
i wouldnt want to have one on a plane id scare everyone to death :rotfl:

mine started with really horrible thoughts like i was going die

this is what i get bad panick attacks over one minute i will be ok but if i even think of it i get so worked up that its awfull hard to breathe and im really nervy generally end up thumping up and down on the spot but then after a time i'l be ok but its always so scary :(

They are not nice, I have suffered with them since I was 12 and have had a few since finding out I am pregnant.

Our bodies are just so up the wall at the moment and I don't think that helps. It's hard to think straight sometimes.

I hope you don't get anymore panic attacks.

aww hun i havent got any advice but thought u may need a hug, uv not had it easy last few weeks have u hun

hey littlelady  dont be silly sweety we are hear to listen -xxx-

Hi there littlelady,

I suffer very badly from anxiety and panic attacks. I am sure my recent m/c might have been brought on by it. Basically I feel as though I am going to have a heart attack and die. Usually it is controlled by drugs, but I was drug free during pregnancy...hence lots of panic attacks.

It is a really frightening experience when you are having one, even if you can sensibly rationalize it later.

I found that going to the docs was really helpful because he refered me to a Community Psychiatric Nurse who will give me practical techniques and support to combat them. He also gave me some drugs to calm down. The biggest help I have had is hypnotherapy. I went last week and it has already had a dramatic effect on my life. I highly recommend it.

Lastly, I found an online community which gives advice and support for panic attacks. It has been invaluable to me. http://www.phobics-awareness.org/forum/ You can go to the main homepage http://www.phobics-awareness.org and it will give you facts and tips for controlling panics.

I hope some of this is useful to you. Panics often come on after stressful times in your life like a death/marriage/birth/moving house etc...don't think you are mad for getting them.....it is some people's way of dealing with stress.

You can always pm me if you want to chat, I am happy to help if I can

Im sorry to hear ur having these hun

I dont have any advice, but i know how ur feeling iam getting them most nights now, its when i got to bed normally, think iam too busy during the day :) but i lie in bed at night thinking one of the kids are going to die or a tree falls through my window etc or just that something swful is about to happen its weird then i get this tightening feeling in my chest! it doesnt happen every night but they last for a few mins, iam really not sure what to do myself.

Do i need a doctor?

How long have you had them for, if you had them for a long time then i would prob phone NHS direct of something for a bit of advise. I am gonna the docs any way:)
