Hi Girls, wondering if any of you can offer advice.....

I'm dying (maybe a slight exaggeration :rotfl: ) of a sore throat thing, really I feel like poop and I am feeling very sorry for myself. I'm all achy and have really bad headaches too....I have OH bringing home some lemons and honey on his way home from work this evening.

Just wondering if anyone knows if I can take lemsip or something? I vaguely remember reading that the decongestant stuff is a big no no in pregnancy but cant remember now.......

Any ideas?

Many thanks my trusty advisors..... :D

i would try honey and lemon (the real stuff with hot water) and a paracetamol

Oh you poor love - honey and lemon and a paracetamol seems like a good combination to me. A DVD and some Ben & Jerrys might help as well.....

:)

Paracetamol is about it.

Things like Lemsip are a no go when PG.

Suggest a nice warm bath and an early night :)

What the others have said really but deffo don't take lemsip. I wanted to when I had my cold but phoned NHS and they said not to take it. You can take normal paracetemol though. Hope you feel better soon

I agree with what the others said. I would also recommend gargling with salt water.. its minging but works.

What sherlock said!!

There was a few posts about this back in the winter and advice on medication is, unless prescribed, paracetamol only, and even then to keep it to a minimum. I've taken 2 paracetamol my entire pregnancy and that was cos i felt like utter crap lol.

Honey and lemon and generally relaxing should help, it's been rubbish weather today and i found my bath made me feel SOOOO good, its lovely and warm, takes the weight off you and relaxing.

Hope you feel better soon

i agree with the rest, hot honey & lemon to wash down couple of paracetamol... did the trick when i wasnt well. but then again i think a good old tub of posh ice cream would also work :D hope you feel better soon. x
