Ovulation

Hi everyone.
This is month 4 of us TTC.
This month i have started using ovulation sticks, apps etc to boost our chances.
I have been using the sticks everyday sometimes 3/4 times throughout the day.
I have never had a positive one, even on ovulation days.
I know when im ovulating, change in discharge, pain in my side etc.
Do these tests always pick it up or sometimes not?
I have a 9 year old DS already.

Hi Stacey,

I wouldn't test everyday, that will cost you a fortune. Try to test around the middle of your cycle. How long is your average cycle?

Apparently there is one month a year that we might not ovulate, but everyone is different.

what day in your cycle are you currently? x

OPKS dont always pick up that your ovulating you could miss the surge or your urine could be to dilute to pick anything up

I am on day 16 of a 28 day cycle so should be ovulating around this time according to my app x

They definitely don't work for everyone. I tried OPKs twice a day for one month and NEVER got a positive. I decided my body actually was ovulating based on cramps and CM and the OPKS were just stupid. Turns out I was right because I got my BFP that month.

I use the one step opk sticks and have found them to be quite good, I’ve used them for 3 cycles and have had 2 cycles of accurate positives.

I paid £8 for 60 but that includes 20 pregnancy tests too, I only use them during my fertile window and on those days I will use up to 3 a day.
They don’t work for some people, but I like them.

Are you holding your urine for a while before using and minimising oral fluid intake?

I have all the signs so i do know my body i was just puzzled about the test sticks. I have been doing them every 2 hours today (yes im crazy) but i have got positives woohoo. Must of just been missing them before
