Ovulation strips

This is the first month that I’m going to use ovulation strips.

they say test once a day (same time) between 11-7 then up it to twice/three times a day nearer the time.

But my question is... why test twice a day if you can only go to BD at certain times ie evening?

Doesn’t it cause more stress? Lol

Hey hun! I usually test around lunch time then around 5pm you should have a minimum of a 4 hour hold before testing.

They say test twice a day because you could be missing your surge (highest peak on the test)
I found clear blue much more convenient for this reason but I thought I was just missing my surge not ovulating later. Xx

Have you got any apps you use? I find pre mom really helpful to analyse the tests but clear blue is super simple it’s a circle a flashing smiley or solid smiley for peak you can get a 20 box on Amazon for £28, you test with your first morning urine too so no guessing when you should use them! I’ve not used them this cycle because I’m tracking my cycles with the SI so it would have been v expensive lol x

I’ve bought some one step ones as they are more budget friendly at the mo. I will try Clear blue when I’m back at work properly sounds easier lol. Was thinking doing them at 12 and 6! I’ve got Premom app so hoping to use that alongside strips Xx

Yes I agree way more pocket friendly! I’m just getting to grips with the tech of it all to be honest took my first temp this morning although I’m not sure how accurate that’ll be as I was up and down with the LO all night do you temp? X

I think it says multiple times to make sure you catch the surge, once ovulated the eggs is good for a day or so. So you don’t need to drop and DTD right that second!

I used them a lot whilst TTC and never got a line darker than the control line and they drove me a big mad so going to use clear blue this time and looks out for them on offer.

Question about opk's for when I start... are they like hpt's were positive shows within 3 mins or can these take longer to develop before you read the result? Xx

They take about 5 mins ish and should look like the bottom one when positive x

The pack of 20 can you use them for multiple months with the same holder thing? I’ve seen them on there that’s the pack I’m thinking of getting. You start using them once AF stops right?? Whole TTC thing is a minefield!

Depends how long your cycle is on when you would use them. I used from CD17 but I have long cycles. The holder can be used again with test strips from the same pack but not over and over again the only one that does that is the monitor I think but that is crazy money! X

Superdrug have them on offer £22 for 10 normally £26 I think xx

I’ve got really bad stomach cramps today, think I’m 2 dpo based on when got ewcm. I’d forgotten what cramps are like off the pill - I’m such a wimp!!

I used to have a long cycle 40+ now it’s 28-30. Mins you have the odd cycle that’s 35+

blaming PCOS xx

Mine has been really random the last 12 months but I’ve been pregnant twice in that time so the longer ones 45+ are those cycles I’m averaging around 32 at the moment x
