Hello ladies!

Well I am (I think) 1 DPO today (yay) but I just wondered if anyone knew the kind of process of ovulation.

4 days ago I started getting right side pains, and very stringy and clear CM, then the next day the pain changed over to the left side with the same CM then the day after it was pain all over a little like period pains with slightly creamier CM and today I feel it all over again with not much CM at all.

So I guess I have ovulated, but which one of these days do you actually ovulate?
We are covered I think because we DTD every couple of days.

I know it will be suggested for me to actually track ovulation, but that really confuses me as well and my OH doesn't want to know when I am ovulating because he struggles with the "pressure".

Any advice greatly appreciated!

xx

I'm not really an expert with ovulation but I know when I'm ovulating because of the one sided pain and CM. When its around that time we DTD and hope for the best.
I fell pregnant pretty quickly with my son Joey after looking out for them signs. Maybe you could get some ovulation testing kits? xx

Thank you, I don't know anything about OPKs so I will probably have to work out what it all means! Xx

I dont no about them either but I'm considering getting some. You can get cheap ovulation kits off ebay. I got 10 pregnancy tests for £1.99 but I guess I should get the opk first....I assume opk is something to do with an ovulation testing kit lol sorry to sound dumb xx

The day you have 0 CM usually indicates OV. EWCM is present to assist until OV. I would say the first pains was perhaps your body gearing up to OV and the second set followed by less CM was probably OV.

Hard to say without knowing when your surge was even then, OV is a minefield at the best of times.

Glad youv covered yourself. Good luck.

I'm really not very good with ovulation signs but RM ^ sounds right. I'd say that's when you OV too!

Good luck for this month lexi xx

I've been unsure about this too. I generally use a clearblue dual he money tester and when I get the solid smiley face I count the next day as ovulation.

Starting to wonder if my body gears up for Ovulation but doesn't actually release an egg as I think I ovulate too early (CD9).

Opk tests tell you when the ovulation surge is happening and after a positive test you will probably ovulate 24-48 hours later. The only way you can be sure you ovulated is by taking your temperature. After ovulation your temps are higher.

Thank you for shedding some light, today is my first day with no CM and no pain, gosh my body kicks up a right fuss to ovulate I've had lots of funny pains here there and everywhere, I paid a lot more attention this time around to see if I can tell which side I ovulated from but both sides hurt in turn so maybe I double ovulated lol!

I might consider OPK's just so I can get a better understanding of it all as I don't really want to track but maybe just knowing when I ovulate will help! I will next month if this isn't our month.

You're all amazing xx

Using OPKs definitely help as apparently a lot of ladies don't ov when they think they are but you're right to pay attention to your body to try and suss out what's going on x

I opk but I always get really bad ov pains but only on one side normally.

I would recommend opks just to give you an idea of when you ov.

I've had positive opks CD10 before and in other cycles on CD16 so it can vary.

Thanks so much guys, if this isn't our month I am going to do it xx

If you are having sex before and during those OV symptoms you will be covered - backing that up with opks is a good option, but remember that you won't actually ovulate until 12-36 hours AFTER a positive test..... was talking to my friend last week who thought she'd missed her chance as she had a positive that day, I told her she needed to get to it!!! :)

I often use opks but don't mention it to my DH at all - he feels the pressure too, so I totally get that. Just use them from CD 10 & have sex every other day or so - you'll be covered! Good luck.

Thank you - Yeah I am glad a few of you guys have mentioned that because I wouldn't have a clue with the ovulation thing and OPK'S!!

I am quite enjoying a relaxed 2ww so dont even know if I will OPK next month as that could send me loopy, and yeah I couldnt tell OH even if I did! xx

Im rubbish with ovulation! I use a tracker and when that says I might be ovulating I piss on a stick every day for the week to enter it manually and get it accurate. I don't really tell hubby about it as he's only home weekends anyway but it's so I can track the changes in mucus and tummy pains etc so now I can pretty much tell accurately when I am ovulating even without the tracker. Just do the tracker for yourself, they're not massively accurate without confirmation from an ovulation stick and if you pissed on a stick and it says go for it just jump your oh and make a baby!

I've had pains and EWCM and apparently not ovulated.. (To put a spanner in the works here the month I didn't, I had the "signs" and the month I think did, I had very little EWCM.

The cheapies were crap for me but I got my first postives on Clear Blue (they are amazing) but you can also get positive OPKS and not ovulate so don't count on them (FYI you tend to ovulate after you get the postive).

The only way you can tell if you have ovulated is by 21 day test or BBT tracking (using a proper 2 decimal thermometer and taking it at the same time every day before you leave bed for the whole month or after AF) and Fertility Friend application has helped me lots.

This is my second month BBTing (specifically to track ovulation) and I'm going to do it again this month too. It's hard work but unless I go for a scan there's no way I can see if I have actually ovulated.

Hope this helps xx
