Overpayment??

How do you stand if youve been overpayed by the government but spend the money and then ask for the money back??

Could i just say look i can only afford £10 a month and repay that. They have to accept it because at least ive offered to pay something??

I think it depends what it's for-of it's tax credits you can pay it out of your next award at x amount a week xx

Just found out its not government money. It's a deposit from XXXX but i have no idea ??. It's not a cash payment it must be cheque as its not cleared but its in balance. And yeah surely they would have noticed my names is Miss C L Moffat but its addressed to Joe Bloggs??
