Hiya,

I'm new to this site. just wondering is there any girls out there that are currently in the same situation as me and are overdue? I'm going on 5 days overdue now and losing my mind!! I'm due to be induced on the 27th of this month and it feels like ages away! I really hope I go on my own before then but I'm getting no signs of contractions just feeling really heavy and a lot of pressure down below specially when I walk and try to get up out of bed/off a chair etc. Would love to hear your experiences girlies :) xx

Hi

Snap! I was due on the 18th but no signs of baby as yet I went 12 days over with my daughter so I could still be in for a bit of a wait. Have had lots of niggles/period pains but doesn't seem to last or go any further than that. Is this your first baby? Hoping to have a sweep and get my date for induction on Wednesday.

It's so miserable when you go past your date as it feels like you have nothing to focus on at least you have a new date to aim for. Fingers crossed you go naturally!!

Aw yay I'm not the only one!!! Lol yes this is my first baby, having a little boy.. Totally dreading the labour as I'm pathetic as far as managing pain goes! Do you know what your having? It's the not knowing when it's going to happen that is scaring me. I'm the same as u I have been getting period pains and an aching back etc always think that's it starting but nothing ever comes of it! I had a sweep on Tuesday and I bleed loads which the midwife had said was a good sign and she thought I would go quickly after it but ive been waiting ever since and no longer believe her lol! Xx

I went 2 weeks overdue. No amount of walking, bouncing, sex, pineapple or curries or baths helped mine. I paonted my house at the end even that didnt help. He got here though.

Take it as a good sign. Your a good hostess :p

I know its hard but at the end of the 2 weeks you will have a baby. 2 weeks is nothing compared to TTC and pregnancy.

Good luck, I hope you go yourself!

xxxx

Hello!

I was due March 14th and still waiting Will be 41 weeks tomorrow and so ready to no longer be pregnant. Have been in early labour for the last two days having lost my plug completely now and contracting on and off every day. Got down to contractions every 4 mins Friday night but then all slowly stopped over night and been doing that ever since. Midwife has given me a sweep today and am at 3cm and still waiting.

Hopefully things will pick up properly soon as so ready now.

Hope you won't be waiting too much longer either x

Well my NHS due date was the 12th which was impossible (immaculate conception that would have been!) so I'm working to my own due date of the 18th which also makes me slightly past my EDD. But EDD is a guess date - it does not mean you will have a baby "on or before this date" but "this date plus or minus 2 weeks". So anything up to 42 weeks gestation is perfectly normal variation and not considered overdue - there is a natural variation of 35 days between women's gestation periods.

Totally appreciate the frustration but we will all get there soon I promise :)

It's not as bad as you think I am quite looking forward to labour in a strange sort of way. We are having a little girl. The not knowing is a killer everyday you wake up and wonder if it's going to be D Day. My partner is not coping well with the waiting (it's his first) I think he honestly thought baby would just turn up on the 18th and my 7 year old is almost as impatient as he is. Really hope things start moving for you I am sure they will!!

Thanks for the replies girls. Lovely to hear other girls responses that are in the same situation. I'm more chilled today and just accepting that nothing is going to happen till my induction this Sunday. I guess I'm lucky Aswell that I live in Northern Ireland and here they don't let u go any more than 10/11 days over instead of two weeks. I think we all just set our due date in our heads as D day and when it comes and goes were left gutted lol I'm so excited to see what my wee man looks like and cannot wait to not be pregnant anymore and eventually hopefully get back into my old clothes! Lol oh and not forgetting a wee wine, oh how I have missed wine! Haha xx
