For about 3 or 4 nights now I have been getting really sore ribs, around the back on either side. I'm only 30 weeks so I don't think it's the baby kicking me so hard that it's bruising me but I can't work out how to ease it or stop it?!

To begin with I thought it was the weight of my stomach pulling at my ribs when I sleep on my side so I've propped a pillow under my bump but that hasn't worked!

It hurts during the day either when I bend over, breath deeply or sit for a while! Help, it's frustating! Has anyone experienced this and can you suggest anything to ease it?

Hi

Ive had this with Kiara and i found nothing really eased it for me :?
I think its just another nasty pregnancy symptom we have to live with, hope you find somthing that works for you

Thanks for the support Katrina, I've just been to my aerobics class and asked the teacher (she's been teaching aerobics for pregnant women and new Mums for 16 years so loads of experience) and she thinks it's the ribs being pulled as my torso is expanding......and that there was no miracle cure either! She suggested getting on my hands and knees and arching my back and then doing the opposite (does that make sense?) as this might ease the pressure a bit!

Pppffff, I need pain killers, a hot, hot bath and a nice gin and tonic!!!! I can dream!

Not sure if its the same as you've had hun, but I've had what feels a bit like pressure around & inside my ribs, your insides are being pushed up though as baby gets bigger.

I found a looser bra (you can get the extenders to help with this), and sittinf forward rather than lounging back on the sofa helped. I sit on my birth ball more than the sofa now, and as your aerobics teacher said - all fours, then arch your back followed by dipping your back (what my old dance teacher called sad cat/ happy cat :rotfl: ).

Hope it eases a bit hun

I have got rib ache to but only get it bad on one side and nothing i do makes it go away, it just comes and goes when it feels like it.

I have something like this, it started about 2 weeks ago and is driving me crazy. Its like an aching pain above the top of the bump, but under the boobs.

For me its made worse by sitting at work or at the computer table and it feels a bit better if I arch my back (shoulders back).

I also have similar aching underneath my shoulder blades. I don't know what to do about it, I know paracetamol doesn't help! :(
