I'm pretty sure my LO has oral thrush. He's been crying through his feeds and taking much less than normal. Plus, I've noticed he has a big white patch at the back of his tongue. Can I pick him up something at the chemist or does he need to see the doc?? He's not even 2 weeks old & we've already been to the docs because he's been really twitchy so I dont really want to bother them again unless I really have to.

doctors i'm afraid hun, but you should be able to see the nurse for a prescription - or even your HV
Josh had this a few weeks ago

Thanks. Ill give them a ring tomorrow morning. My docs are lovely, just hate to bother them again.

You can buy Daktarin gel over the counter.

But as i understand it .... Daktarin is not for newborns.
I checked with the pharmacy and the doctors
