Hi ladies,

Just after some advice because I find it’s great in this forum!

Been TTC for 3 months now and so this month I decided to give ovulation testing a go. Now I’m aware that if the second line is fainter then this is a negative result. But does a faint line mean that ovulation is on the way type thing? Or has been?

I ask because according to what I think my cycle is, ovulation would have been last weekend and when I tested today (just bought them) there was a faint line. But I don’t know if I’ve ovulated yet as haven’t had the other signs with CM that I usually do.

Hope this makes sense and thanks in advance. Xx

I don’t believe so, the opks detect luteinizing hormone (LH) which is always present we just get a surge of it before we should ovulate (but it’s not a definite sign of ovulation)

Hope this helps. Good luck and baby dust x

I’ve tried opks, I’ve had a faint line every time I’ve taken one, I don’t think it means anything, keep them and record them over a month and you’ll see if you have any patterns x

Thank you ladies. That’s really helpful. I’m very new to this so wondered if it worked the same way as a pregnancy test with the line just getting darker! Thanks again. Fingers crossed. Xx
