So I've been using (cheap, £1 shop) opks for a while now and I understand that the test line is usually viable due to there always being some form of this hormone in our bodies.

What I want to know is why on earth aren't my lines changing at all?! Every day my test line is the same shade, no lighter, no darker. I've got them all stuck together and each one us identical.....

Does this mean that I'm not O'ing or does this just happen sometimes?

I had hoped to use them to better track my cycle but so far I'm more confused than before!

Are you doing the test at the same time every day and what time are you doing them? Could you have missed Ov?
I’ve only used OPKs twice. The first when TTC my first and then the first month off of the pill this time. I used clear blue ones the first time as I wasn’t aware of cheaper ones. It helped me to get to know my cycle etc and I only used them for a month. I initially used them in the afternoon (after holding) as apparently that’s when the concentration of hormone is highest although I did a couple of cheapie ones in the morning this time and they showed a surge but it was a couple of days earlier than I expected x

You need to do opk strips between 10am and 5pm. What time are you doing them? Maybe get some other cheapies from Amazon in case these are no good. Also you could try testing twice a day. I only get one day of positive.

If you really aren't getting any positives you could ask your GP for an ovulation test - they can do a blood test to check LH levels.

I know I sound like I'm stuck on repeat but because I had such a nasty yet sobering experience with O I can't emphasize it enough, the only sure way to confirm O is tracking BBT. Yes, it's not fun to do, and it takes time and it can be uncomfortable if you are on holiday...but OPKs, CM, CP all these other signs and symptoms and tools can only detect that your body is gearing up to O...it doesn't mean you will...or won't.

If I were you WM, because you are just now getting your cycles naturally, I would definitely track O with BBT - if only for a few months until there is a clear O pattern so that you know when aprox you O each cycle. Then all the rest should start to make sense and not be as confusing.

I'm really upset with myself that I stopped temping. I could have saved myself the heartache and confusion and not to mention the stress.

:friends: GL WM :dust:
