Hiya,

There is a family traditon of Michael Peters in my family - my brother, dad, grandad etc.etc.

Now obviously i would check with them, but so far the only name me and DH agree on is Michael - but in Irish - pronounced Meehaul, do you think this would be a bit mean, Im afraid to ask in case they say its totally fine but really think its a bit wicked (my brother Michael doe not have any kids yet)

Also do you like
Benjamin Fox Kelly (DH picked the Fox bit he loves it  )

If it's a family name, then I don't see why not. Plus, as you're in Northern Ireland, there would be less of an issue with mispronunciation (presumably?).

Otherwise, you could consider similar names/variations.

For example, Micah Pierre or Piers. Or a name with a similar meaning, such as Craig instead of Peter (they both mean rock).

I think Benjamin Kelly sounds nice, but I'm with you in your scepticism for your husband's choice. For me, Fox is really a surname and also, in our culture, carries such connoitations of slyness, underhandedness etc that I don't think I'd want to impose it on a child. But it is being suggested as a middle name and if your fella is that keen on it you may well have to give way.

I also like Benedict as a 'Ben' name which is an alternative you might consider.
