Ok these are my names....I think! Feel free to be honest I won't be offended

Boy- Harry Daniel
Girl- Eleanor Kate

( Daniel is oh name and Kate is mine is this really self involved? ) xx

I like both. I love Harry! I think it's nice you've incorporated your names into your chosen child names

I like both. think it is nice how uv used urs and oh names in bubs name! :) I love ellie...thats top of my girls list!! xx

I like them both.
Nope not too self involved, it's actually traditional to keep hand the family name down the generations, either in form of first name but more commenly, the middle.

Think they're really lovely names.

I like them both but particularly Eleanor Kate. It's quite elegant sounding.

I'm not keen on Eleanor but thats just personal preference. Jack was very nearly Harry :)

p.s Jack is Jack Stephen after his Daddy :) x

I love both! I always wanted the name Harry if I had a boy but I have a cousin called Harry. Eleanor sounds really pretty too :)

I think it is lovely to use family names. I love both names, but Harry is too popular for us to use it. Eleanor is pretty. My neighbour is Eleanor and goes by Lenny which is different to Ellie.

Eleanor was on my list too! Hubby wasn't keen at the time as he didn't want it shortened to Ellie. Tbh, I would have shortened to Nelly or Nora anyway :) Fingers crossed I can put it back on the list for number two!

Love Harry but my cousin's LO is Harry so wouldn't use it.

I like the idea of carrying on a name - That's how we came up with LO's name

I love both names - Harry is my favourite boys name but we cant use it as my best friend recently had a little boy celled Harry! Eleanor is lovely too :)

I love the names and that using family names/your names makes them extra special x

lovely names, just a odd question, what will you do when your next lo's are born , ahving used your first names already potentialy (well one of you will have), you may not have just the 1 boy and 1 girl etc, sorry just o pose that question, of what would baby 2 think, do you like both of your middle names too, so you have options?

I love Eleanor, and would think I would prefer a Elena or Elen shortening to Ellie (reminds me of the car Eleanor in gone in 60 seconds - great film)

Good question jj and the answer is I don't know haha. In all fairness I am not fussed with middle names. I've never had a middle name and can honestly say i dont feel deprived in any way. However dh is insistent on middle names despite the fact that they are only ever used when filling in forms lol. Xxx

I don't think it would be a problem if number 2 comes along and it's the same sex as number 1 - You could always use other family names. My hubby's older brother has their dad's first name as a middle name and my hubby has his dad's middle name so it's not really an issue. It's not like my hubby is loved any less by his parents just because he has his dad's middle name instead of his first.

We're following middle name tradition if Newbie is a boy.

Grandad is Colin Richard
OH is Stephen Colin and BIL is Paul Richard
Jack is Jack Stephen & Newbie will be Charlie Colin if a bluey! .... make sense? :)
