Hi everyone, i was just wondering... when i first found out that i was pregnant, my midwife told me that my notes would be "paperless". She gave me a Bounty folder full of coupons and expects me to take that to every appointment, even though it's useless.
I only see my notes when i'm at the midwife and then, i have to ask to which she gets a bit awkward about showing me.
This is my first pregnancy and i feel like i've missed out on showing off my growth charts and information to my partner who hasn't been able to attend every appointment with me.
I was just wondering if there is an easier way that i could see my notes and share them with my partner? Surely if i'm "paperless", there is somewhere online to access them?
I will speak to my midwife about it when i next visit in 2 weeks. Even though i feel like it's too late by then as i'll be 34 weeks and nearly at the end.
I'm in Stoke-on-Trent if that makes a difference.
Thanks,
Nat.

I hear that many trusts are planning on going paperless but I thought ladies were supposed to get apps on their phones with the info. I don’t think it’s appropriate that you have no access. We still have paper notes in my trust, but the likes of Derby I think are planning to go paperless

I feel like my notes are like a 'secret' and they don't want to share them with me. The only things that we have at home are the scan photos.
When i go to my appointments in the mornings, by the time that my partner has finished work, i've forgotten what has been said that morning and have nothing to refer back to.
I feel bad for my partner because he doesn't really know anything other than what i've remembered.

i have a mix of online and paper notes as i am cross border derbyshire/yorkshire ( MW is derbyshire and i want to have the baby in south yorkshire )

my MW uses an electronic pen to write notes and they all go into a database, but when i go for scans/ checks at the hospital i have a big paper pack to take with me

Its awkward! i do prefer my paper notes really to see my progress - it seems a shame its proving hard for you to have access to your online notes as you are entitled to them!

I agree with the others. I still have paper notes which is fine but I think if they go paperless you should still be able to access them easily. I thought the whole point of having the notes at home was so you could have them with you if there was an emergency or something? I'm a nurse but I work in a different trust from where I live so if I had an issue while I was at work and needed to be seen urgently I'd want to have something to give them or something they could access easily.
